Baloch

Re: Baloch

Chakar e Azam, a guy so revered by Baloch’s is buried in Punjab, and sadly no one knows him. I hope serious steps are taken to revive his tomb.

Re: Baloch

Its Sindh main rehandaR Zaatiyoon, Qomoon aen Qabeela  covers around 500 castes, tribes, etc. An interesting point the writer mentions in preface that after the first edition of the book, he got some letters from some members of a caste showing their anger for calling them Sindhi origin as they always consider them as Arabs, etc :smack:

Re: Baloch

^ Its interesting after reading it would it be possible for you to open up a thread on that?

Re: Baloch

Which caste was that?

Re: Baloch

This Chakar guy was a strange fellow, he started a war with Lasharis on a petty matter (perhaps killing of a baby camel). The war continued for 30 years, thousands were killed, many were displaced. After winning the war, Chakar just packed up his bags and left for Punjab. :smack:

There’s another interesting thing that during this period three brothers left Baloch lands and founded three cities which are now known as Dera Ghazi Khan, Dera Ismael Khan and Bhakkar.

Re: Baloch

will post about different castes in separate threads. It says that if Rind are excluded from Baloch (which can be excluded) all Balochs living in Sindh will become non-Baloch (Sindhi). lets see whats the mystery behind it as Rind includes famous castes like Chandio, Leghari, etc

Re: Baloch

Khaskheli :p

Re: Baloch

Its surrounded by folklore. As per legend, Chakar e Azam conquered whole Sindh, but history tells otherwise.

Re: Baloch

I have met Rinds and they consider themselves Baloch. Even Chakar e Azam was a Rind.

Historically it could go the other way as well, they could well be a Sindhi tribe which has over the years settled in Balochistan. I believe Rind is the biggest tribe in Balochistan.

Re: Baloch

Many things would clear when you read that book, otherwise it seems as if the Baloch have adopted the languages where they were based (which is a good thing).

Re: Baloch

Today Rinds are considered as actual / real Balochs and all the tribes try to link themselves with Rind to prove their superiority.

But historically, Rind got refuge of Raja Dahir after escaping from Hajjaj (thats why Baloch folklore including their famous book Dapitar Sher claims that Balochs are from Halab, Iraq) . They were known as Allafis in Arabs and one of the reason (amongst various other reasons) for Arab attack on Sindh was refuge of these Allafis / Rind. If Rinds are considered as Allafis (refugees), then the question arises 'who are the actual Baloch tribes, who inhibited the land before Allafis / Rind'?' Obviously Balochistan was not an uninhibited area before 8th century.
