Bald patches on the head...shoulkd we be worried?

My daughter is mash allah nearly 5 months, we had her head shaved when she was born but it only grew back in certain parts of the head, we had it shaved again when she was three months or so and again no show of hair.

Is this normal? When will hair begin to grow in these missing areas?

Re: Bald patches on the head...shoulkd we be worried?

Very normal.

She should have a normal head of hair by her first birthday. If you suspect it still isn't growing well, shave it one more time.

Re: Bald patches on the head...shoulkd we be worried?

^ i'm glad to see the term normal. my wife is suggesting that we continue shaving until she gets a full head of hair, I think we'll have it shaved again when she's six months, we'll wait and see before then.

thanks

p.s. can we apply anything to her head to quicken hair growth? somebody suggested surma mixed with lemon...not sure if we really want to try that,

Re: Bald patches on the head...shoulkd we be worried?

It's perfectly normal.

My daughter had patches of hairs for like 3-4 months after her head shave. Do give her multivitamin syrup prescribed by your doctor because in my daughter's case it was lack of nutrients that was responsible for this. Anyway some babies do not have that thick hairs and they grow better with time.

I do not believe that shaving head make hairs thick. Just do regular oiling (one/twice a week)

Just massage with olive oil. It's the safest and works well.
