Bakra Eid Scrooge!

Yes, I am the Eid-ul-Adha scrooge! Mainly because im a vegetarian and have zero interest in the kaleji’s and raan’s! I DREAD it every year because I don’t like touching it either or handling it! My heart skips a beat everytime the bell rings just incase it’s sumone dropping-off gosht and i’d have to put it in a plastic bag and the freezer! (for those of that are going to suggest wearing gloves, that doesn’t work I can still “feel” it!) I can’t get the smell out of my head for days after Eid..

I have nitemares a week in advance of the blood, bones and meat! Anyone else that loves eid-ul-fitr and happens to be a eid-ul-adha scrooge like me? :halo:

Will all the scrooge’s please raise their hands!

Nope, definitely not me. Recently I’ve been having all my qurbanis done overseas and I miss having my own qurbani meet. Once I even went to the farm to pick up the qurbani meat for a handful of people. There I actually saw the pieces of meat being cut and packed into bags. With the newspaper nicely laid out in the car (to prevent blood from getting on my car’s interior), it didn’t bother me one bit.

The hardest part of it for me is to actually figure out to whom I’m going to distribute the meat and then carry out the said distribution.

I become a hermit during this eid.. I prefer to stay home and play my playstation and avoid all confrontation with meat!

Re: Bakra Eid Scrooge!

Re: Bakra Eid Scrooge!

Bihari kabab's heavenly.
Hunter's beef out of this world.
Rack O Lamb , priceless.

^ Both of you out of this thread...we're not promoting meat here! Grrr!

Ok an interview with you about your veganism, then I will not return to this thread.

Are you vegan or vegetarian ?
Are you vegetarian/vegan by birth ?
If not when and why you stopped eating meat ?
Are your parents and other siblings also vegan/vegetarian ?

If you are vegetarian , then how do you justify snatching milk from Cow's babies ? How do you justify Killing the un born chicks by eating chicken eggs ?

I'm a vegetarian, I love my daal and vegetables :) NO, I don't have eggs or milk either.. I do have soy milk and soy cheese.

The rest of my family are all meat-lovers! I just never liked the look/taste/smell of meat, chicken, fish etc!

The only eggs/milk I do have is if it's in cakes or cookies, after I hunt for ones made out of egg-subsitute!

Thank you for the interview. Now this thread is all yours , I am outta here.

I think you're the only "Bakra Eid Scrooge" here. I on the other hand would like to have friends over, feed them qurbani meat and play XBox 360 (My PS2 is pretty much just an RPG machine for me so I can't really play anything on that with friends).

Re: Bakra Eid Scrooge!

OMG how could you live without chicken tikkas, burgers and lamb chops :yummy:

^ I figured out I was the only eid-ul-adha scrooge on GS! :)

Re: Bakra Eid Scrooge!

I dont like handling raw meat either so i can somewhat relate but i am certainly not a vegan or vegetarian.

Re: Bakra Eid Scrooge!

Awee , So gina You are a Muslim by religion and a BRahman by nature :swh:

Veg spring rolls, cutlets, pani puri, papri chaat, paneer tikka's, malai kofta! Veg sizzlers! U don't need the meat!

I'll take any of the above AND the meat :)

^ Grrr!

lol@ stinky meat smell :omg:

I can never never get myself to eat qurbani meat, unless its been frozen for a decade in the freezer and I forget the face of the lamb/cow that was innocently batting its lashes at me when first stepping into the house :frowning:

ah a hypocrite in visible daylite. If u like Godiva’s and hershey’s and so much other ‘milk’ chocolate products, u still are consuming milk :faizy:
lets not even go to rest of the deserts…

So what about butter products?

Re: Bakra Eid Scrooge!

I dont care very much for meat either and I still hate handling it, but do cook it for loved ones. I probably only eat beef and lamb a handful of times in the year, one of them obviously being Bakra Eid. I have not and do not ever intend on watching the bakra slaughtering process- yelkh! I have cousins back home that just killed their poor pet bakras and then sat down to eat em

I do however LOVE CHICKEN! I could live on that alone for the rest of my life, eat it everday, and never get tired of it. Of course only the boneless kind in salans and then the grilled/tandoori/fried stuff… yummy!
