I have a sister who is an amazing baker. She always makes my birthday cakes so this year I decided to return the favor.
Next week is her birthday and I decided to make a butter pecan flavored cake. Problem is…I have no clue where to start!
I know we have quite a few bakers on GS, so does anyone have a good butter pecan cake recipe?
I see so many online but it is all a bit overwhelming. Any other tips or tricks would also be appreciated. I really want to make a yummy cake so please help.
Even a really good white or yellow cake recipe would help.
Guacy.. I read reviews of recipes just to see how the reviewers thought it turned out and how they tweaked it. I dont bake. Ever. The few rare times I have, it was literally a disaster.
WHy don’t you make an ice cream cake? Those are easy and require no baking, you just need a springform pan and some ice cream/candy/fudge/whatever you want.
I like the ice cream cake idea. You bake a simple sponge cake and cut it half and fill it with her fave butter pecan ice cream. Set it in freezer , I’m thinking even a chocolate cake with butter pecan ice cream would be good
Do let us know what you ended up doing
I followed it to the T and it came out pretty good thankfully! Baker sis loved it so did my parents.
The only thing I noticed was that when it was first made it was pretty moist however over time (I placed it in the fridge for a day) it became a bit drier. So next time I would just cover it and leave it out at room temp.
