i had at a long time ago at someone’s house, and it was awesome.
This is how i figured they made it.
Throw the chicken, capsicum, potatoes and carrots (i think) into a deep dish, covered with aluminium foil, and baked. I need help with this dish as i’ve never “baked” a meal before (besides lasagna).
Exactly how long and at what temperature do i bake it at?
chicken marination. i was thinking ginger/garlic paste, salt, lal mirch, mustard paste??? should i use yoghurt too? what else could i add/ take away from the marination list? lemon juice?
i want everything to be cooked at about the same time so what size should i cut them potatoes? wedges or thin sliced?
would whole green chillies help in enhancing the flavour?
what other vegetables could be used?
what would go well with the above dish? mashed potatoes/ garlic bread???
my mom has her own recipe of baked chicken and she use yoghurt for marination too in addition to the masalas and it turns out yummy . I assume that vegetables will bake / cook faster than chicken so you really don't have to worry about their cooking time. I believe you can bake without the foil too.
Hi reply in green. I'm also looking for a recipe like this as I'm inspired by the season and sake advert on tv at the moment but im usless at translating into spicy version

I would buy those roast bags in tesco, I did the other day, at least you woun't have juices of the chicken spilling out on tray. So many times I've dried my chicken and fish doing the not enough foil method. So, you can chuck all the veg, chicken pieces, seasoning in the bag and on a tray.

Depends if whole chicken, pieces with bone or boneless. which ever way, i cook until white on inside.
Not sure about temp though. I always stick on highest heat but thats probably not the best way, 200 C. Usually the British style of cooking is cooking longer and a much lower heat.

This is what i'm stuck on too. whatever it is would always add black pepper it this myself. Not sure about yoghurt though.

More like wedges. Think quarters as in the way you would cut an orange in half then the half piece into 4. You dont want them thin sliced as will cook really quickly.
would whole green chillies help in enhancing the flavour? Could do never tried baking though.

I would use 2 colours of capsicum i.e. red and green pepper the colour contrast would make it look nice and they have slightly different flavours which would add depth to the dish. Also, could add some courgettes, maybe a few quartered tomatoes.
what would go well with the above dish? mashed potatoes/ garlic bread??? you would already have potatoes should a fresh salad and garlic bread would be my choice.
