I used Heinz and sometimes Tesco or Asda’s own brand but Heinz taste the best.
Didn’t have any hashbrowns and halal sausages.

Re: Baked Beans
ewwwwwwwww......black pudding is the blood right? ewwwwwwwwwww
How do the Brits make their baked beans for breakfast?
Really simple. You buy a tin from the local supermarket, open it. Place beans in to a microwaveable plate and cover to avoid any splattering. Heat for about 1 and a half mins. And voila - gourmet baked beans lol
So, growing up in the UK, I have been brought up eating baked beans, I must admit we are die hard heinz fans so no other brand lines our rumbling tummys!
My fave meals with baked beans are:-
Mostly beans in our house are eaten as an accompaniment to a breakfast dish or for a quick filling snack or a quick easy meal when you can't be bothered to make anything else or are due a trip to the supermarket!
Happy days!
Re: Baked Beans
You can make spicy beans for a quick meal. just make normal curry masala and throw in a can of beans, et voila!
Beans with toast, grilled tomatoes, mushrooms, sausages, egg, hash browns…
Beans with egg, meat patty burgers and chips
Beans with mashed potato, topped with masses of cheese, then microwaved
“beans beans the musical fruit, the more you eat the more you toot, the more you toot the better you feel, so have some beans with every meal” ![]()
Re: Baked Beans
Baked beans with jacket potato, Coleslaw and bowl full of mozerella cheese ![]()
Re: Baked Beans
Ya seriously, what about the gas factor?
Re: Baked Beans
One more silly question...what is a jacket potato?
Re: Baked Beans
U really don't know? It's a whole potato with the skin on, prick it a few times with a fork, sprinkle it with salt and then stick it in the oven for an hour (or microwave for 7 mins).
may be you call it baked potato?
Re: Baked Beans
I was looking forward to breaking my roza with baked beans n cheese on toast but Mr Halwa was appalled at the thought and brought home take-away shish kebab instead.
He's not a fan of baked beans. I'm not too much of a fan either except when I'm super hungry.
Re: Baked Beans

That's made me laugh! Not opened a roza with a simple baked bean meal in ages! Must make a note in my head to do this next time round lol.

As maroush said its a 'baked potato' but we call it a jacket potato because it still has the skin on it which acts as a 'jacket' to the flesh of the potato lol. Isn't it great haha!
Re: Baked Beans
yes baked beans , heinz are the best, just because its the label that induces those memories from childhood.
Beans on toast, with cheese. pepper, little bit of chillie sauce, mustard, lovely
Also another favorite beans with chips/fries + extra ketchup lol
Now u can buy baked beans with vegetarian sausages in side the can. Truly amazing. This is my dinner when i have nothing or no time. just add spices and eat with a roti or pitta bread.
There are many types of beans which are delicious, kidney, borlotti, adzuki all haveing many health benifits, and side effects.
