anyone made it ? I want to try it and have watched a few video’s … just scared i guess, scared of getting it wrong , too sweet, too soft etc etc …

I have related question to all , why the heck is baklava so expensive at Arab stores as compared to Some chain store like Sams club or Walmart ?
I bought a big box of baklava at sams club for six dollars the same size box at Arab stores is sold for 35 dollars.

it's cheaper N better tasting if you buy from a high end Egyptian Bakery :)

Mirch , i dunno the answer to your question .. but arabs in arab world sell it expensive coz the nuts are really expensive …

The price of baklava varies depending on the amount and types of nuts used, and whether the pastry is sweetened with honey syrup or sugar syrup.
I have made it in the past, it turned out lovely especially if you eat it while it's warm but cost me a fortune in nuts.
