The idiot does not acknowledge, that Musharraf was the first leader, who stood up against these fanatics. This is outrageous to claim that mullahs were sleeping peacefully in 90's. Its just that they were taking most their rage across the border, helping talibans. As a hobby, they use to attack shia mosques, every moharram. I remember "double sawari" used to be banned, every now and then (specially moharram and ramzan) in lahore. GT road used to be full of anti-hindu slogans, written by lashkarey-falana etc. jhadi training schools were everywhere, coz they were helping kashmiri-cause. People do have short memory.

Robert, why didnt he stand up against them from 99-02? Even after that, to save his kursi and to make himself all important, he let them make advances, just like how he played double games with the MMA, and nourished them to such an extent that now they are coming back to haunt us on a daily basis. Musharraf is a complete idiot, we would have been off so much better if someone with some diplomatic skills, rather than a PMA mindset been in power.

If you mean from stand up "The WAR" against Taliban, then it was not in interests of Pakistan to attack Taliban all alone.

Heck in those days, everybody was so much in love with talibans, that saying anything against them was like cursing religion. The government (like PPP) were going out of their way, to shower them with arms.
After 9/11, Musharraf tried to steer away, and then they came after us. Why blame musharraf? The only choice acceptable to these freaks is, to lick their dirty boots, for you to say "how much", when they ask you to bend over.
Unless pakistan cleanse itself of closet supporters and sympathizers of Taliban and their ideology, Pakistan may never come back in peaceful balanced state of different sects living in harmony.
These supporters would rather see Pakistan nonfunctional and crippled like Iraq, Afghanistan, and Sudan, but they will not stop supporting the culprit. There is nothing Islamic or religious about taliban. Islam is about peace, harmony and forgiveness. The idelology of taliban is to take-over, bring Khilafat, kick all the other sects out of islam, and bring their version of violent “Islam” by force.
The only way for Pakistan to survive the lunacy and not end up as another pitiful nation is to be confident that it’s not Islam that these blood thirsty lunatics are fighting for, and come together as a nation. They are indeed anti-islam to the core.
