What is Bait in Islam?
If one has done bait with someone random e.g. a Peer can you break the bait or change it in the future?
Pls advise, generally very interested in this topic and would like to knw more.
Also I am not saying this is right i would just like to knw views and increase my knowledge.

Bait or Bayyah is recommended for every muslim who wants a Shaykh(scholar) to guide him/her on the path of spiritualism(tassuwaf) that includes getting close to God, purification of the heart and attaining excellence in good character.
You can break the bayyah if you have a valid reason but if you do that often and without a reason then it's considered rude.
The status of shaykh/peer is like the status of a teacher.
