Bashir Badr…he taught me a couple of undergrad Urdu courses at Aligarh Muslim University. there was another famous shaa’ir who also taught me one course…his name was Dr. Shehryaar [Prof. AKhlaq MoHammad Khan], the one who wrote ALL the Ghazals of Rekha’s Umraao Jaan.
