Re: Bahria Town: Pakistan gated community sparks controversy

media stepping up against pakistan.stupid useless article

Re: Bahria Town: Pakistan gated community sparks controversy

Our media,
They are share holder or afraid,

Re: Bahria Town: Pakistan gated community sparks controversy

well i dont see a point of this article? if writer wanted to implicate Army in Real estate, DHAs around the country are prime example, but bahria town is one of the real estate builders who made fotune by acquiring cheaper land and converting it to very livable place that people want to live in. now whats wrong in that? sure when person gets rich in country like Pakistan he becomes resourceful too. Hiring retired army or other people from top jobs is normal anywhere in the world. Many of the gated community are actully feul development of many cities in Pakistan. Government alone cant develop housing for everyone but these private real estate baring few has done wonder in my opinion in shaping new towns and cities.

Re: Bahria Town: Pakistan gated community sparks controversy

^ Gora reporters have to something instead of just makhi killing in Pakistan.

Re: Bahria Town: Pakistan gated community sparks controversy

Your information is very less about this.
DHA and Bahria Town are working as partners. I quote you only one example, DHA welly Islamabad is a project of DHA but actually it is of Malik Riaz. More than 60,000 plot were sold some two years ago and every owner of the plot is facing about two hundred thousand Rs down.
There are many more examples ,Try to know .

Re: Bahria Town: Pakistan gated community sparks controversy

Anwar you come up with the weirdest conspiracy theories on the planet. Stuff even other conspiracy nuts have never heard off.

It is a private venture. Nothing to do with the military. Or do you all suffer from an inferiority complex where you trust a gora over your own people who are saying the article is not true? Its rather amazing. 4 different people of different political points of view have said its a private venture and all of you believe some gora sitting in LA. Well done.

Re: Bahria Town: Pakistan gated community sparks controversy

I have just given you correct example of one partnership.
Allah karay keh woh din aaiy keh koi soorat ho sach batanay ki.
Just check about DHA welly Islamabad.
I am posting all here in different parts to make a record.
Figures are out from cell calculator to count only one frauds money but risk of life.
Unfortunately I can not go away or hide somewhere due to my sick son and other problems so I am unable to tell much.
I am inside the plays yet .
There is no conspiracy theory and it is open here.

Re: Bahria Town: Pakistan gated community sparks controversy

LA Times needs some real journalists.

Re: Bahria Town: Pakistan gated community sparks controversy

CM, it IS a private venture, that is true. If you were not following, some officers from Pakistan Navy initially objected to this ‘venture’ being called ‘Bahria Town’. They were later shut up. No other housing society, except DHA, gets vast areas of land in big chunks as does Bahria Town. A housing society is not allowed to invite such ‘deposits’ from public as does Bahria town.

Doesn’t unlimited resources and access to public land and ‘assistance’ to buy private land expediently give enough ‘hints’ on what is going on? I must agree with you though, it is not illegal. It is legalized corruption.

Some ideas:

Ever heard of a position called ‘Senior Army Officer’ in a private venture? Only Army officers for Engineer? Prominent ‘Testimonials’ from military men?

Re: Bahria Town: Pakistan gated community sparks controversy

Bahria Town, has right to recruit whoever they like even without advertising, generally ex service men are good in managing positions and many banks and other hire them, whats wrong in it? if Bahria town is public organization or Pakistan has some equal opportunity law then ministry and regulator should implement it.

on same note, many organistaions around the world hire resourceful people as employees at higher packages, who has good relationship building skills and experience in the past in any capacity.

bottom line is, if you dont want a plot in bahria town or similar, no one is forcing you to buy it there!!!

problem is everyone wants to buy plots and live in very same societies even hating the developers, if this is not the case the prices will not go up and these will not be so popular and DHA or Bahria will not make fortunes out of it!!

Re: Bahria Town: Pakistan gated community sparks controversy

True, don't like them, don't buy them! let the price fall and let them fail!!!

Re: Bahria Town: Pakistan gated community sparks controversy

No, the problem is that they use national resources and my tax money to develop their businesses. Give any developer unlimited resources and land and you'll get a world class housing society. Ex-service men are not hired for their 'managerial skills' but as a 'compensation' for the favors these organizations get out of military. When, during their service, these guys are trained to run fertilizer plants, banks, housing societies, insurance companies, clubs, ........ ? Its not about me wanting or not wanting to buy a plot somewhere. Its about millions of our children going un-educated and mothers without healthcare because our military eating up our resources.

The bottom line is that Pakistan military is in the business of doing what is it not supposed to do and not doing what it is supposed to do.

Re: Bahria Town: Pakistan gated community sparks controversy

Pakistan military has been running governments where politicians are not capable of running a good government. when you allow them to run governement, running fertilizers plant are very minute issues, again they are not taking taxes but paying taxes from FFC and actually make profits, i believe this is under founji foundation - a trust for retired armed personnel.

if you so worried about children and future generation and think only and only ARMY draining all the resources of the country, disband army, I have no problem with that but first develop strong institutions that governs- not democracy by the name and name of positions president, PM, etc without actually running the country. other thing to do sort out mess with India so you can be at peace with no threats at all from outside of inside!

once you have clean and strong political government, no internal and external threats, disband Army and keep minimal army as you will be at peace!

Re: Bahria Town: Pakistan gated community sparks controversy

There is strong evidence for military's involvement in Bahria Town and I just pointed it out. It is true that we (middle class Pakistanis) benefit from schemes like Bahria Town and DHA, but there is a huge poor section of our society that suffers and has been suffering for decades.
