I know we’re all in ranting mode, and I thought I’d rant a little too – may be that’ll make me feel a little better.

Like everyone else, I can’t understand why Inzi would choose to bat first given
a) the seaming conditions, and
b) WI successful record in chasing runs -
I am puzzled by the management’s decision to introduce Salman Butt in this particular match. Although I haven’t seen him play myself, and neither am I a big fan of Farhat, I just think that throwing in a rookie batsman in this particular match and an overwhelmingly important one too, in England, with overcast seaming conditions was a hazardous decision. Perhaps just this once, they should have stuck with Farhat who has relatively more experience in the English overcast, conditions than Salman.
Needless to say, our most experienced batsmen didn’t perform either so maybe I’ve nullified my own argument in 2 above… sorry guys… like I said, I’m just ranting.
