rukhssaaaar.....
help man.
Re: badaam/khashkhash sherbet
Interesting request Sajal. I never had that.
Re: badaam/khashkhash sherbet
sorry chanda should have PM'ed me :) Luckily I scrolled down to see who else would have a recipe since I think it is sort of 'home grown' :)
So here it is if you can comprehend it.
Soak the almonds in water over night and then peel them :-) [tough job!]
Take khashkhash (ksh) and stick it in the tiny food processor - don't wash the ksh and then grind it otherwise it will go bad if you store the leftover ksh.
- For one TBSP of ground ksh take 15 almonds (this will make 6 glasses)
- Mix just enough milk with ksh and almonds and blend it into a thick consistency. Your main purpose here is to crush the almonds into tiny chunks and create a mixture w/ ksh and milk.
- Add some more milk and sugar (we put in 6 tsp for 6 glasses) and blend again
- Pour the mixture into a pitcher and add about 5 medium glasses of milk
- Stick it in the refrigetor but make sure you mix it well before serving.
We drink this like water so that's why the recipe is sort of haphazardly put together - sorry Sajal but do try it and let me know if you all like it.
Re: badaam/khashkhash sherbet
Thanks. Sounds yummy.
One question though, why do u need to peel the almonds?
Can't u just soak em and then grind em or whatever?
Re: badaam/khashkhash sherbet
^ No way! the peel is going to stick to the back of your throat and cause you to choke
or maybe I am just paranoid ![]()
I think you will have little brown pieces of the peel floating around in your sherbet which might not be so yummy or nice to look at.
Re: badaam/khashkhash sherbet
Oh it’s the peel that’s been hurting my throat in my almond/apple
milkshakes. ![]()
