Isn’t it weird how some people actually look worse when they smile? Anyone know why this is?

(I don’t mean bad teeth or whatever :D)

Like Victoria Beckham and perhaps Cristiano Ronaldo and Lucy Mecklenburgh.. All attractive people but when they smile they somehow look a bit 'off'.. It's really strange.. Can't quite put my finger on why..

I think its cz we're just not used to seeing them smile...but I don't know how they look "bad" either.

I have somewhat "crooked" teeth but its not like I don't get praise/compliments for having a good smile. Don't know how that happens but cant deny that it does. :(

^ Same here…I’ve been complimented on my smile :sid: but my teeth are far from perfect.

You can have crooked or slightly imperfect teeth and still have a great 'welcoming' smile that makes others want to reciprocate..

I can't explain it but 99% of people look 'warm' when they smile and like 1% don't.. I really fancy Cristiano Ronaldo but when I see that smile it goes down a few notches lol..

I know what you mean. I have seen a few people who look fine when not smiling but once they smile, they end up looking like undercover serial killers.

Here is an example of a guy who looks perfectly normal and Barbie’s Ken-like but when he smiles…

OMG is that the reason why posh spice doesn't smile? Because the media have basically taken the mick? Aww thats really bad! I guess its an opinion on what is a bad smile because i don't think Posh or Neha Dhupia have bad smiles? i think i have a bad smile but so many people compliment me on my smile :/

Lol Victoria Beckham does look weird when she smiles, I just googled it. I think it's primarily because her smile looks unnatural, I don't know if it is...but her eyes seem lifeless, seems like a duchenne smile. I think for the most part, a genuine smile usually never looks bad.
