The way I heard it ..

real meaning of Istikhara is to ask for Khair in your decsion. When a choice looks like a good choice, then one should go with that, do isitikhara to ask for allah’s khair in that choice and that is it.

Istikhara is not asking for Allah’s opinion on any matter. Its a myth amongst people.
