Bad posture

I have such and i can’t emphasise the such any greater than SUCH a bad habit of slouching. I could almost pass as Hunch Back of Notre Dame.

So for the last three days i’ve been in a correcting mission. I’ve been sitting straight and the strain on my lower back is incredible. I’m getting back pains, stiff neck…am i doing something wrong? To get a better posture are you supposed to take it slow..but how would you take it slow? Help me someone.

There is nothing wrong in trying to attain a correct posture, but pls do not over starin yourself.Try to do some walk, around 30 mins may be, would enough to relax your muscles and would releive your lower backache. :k:

kashish, babs i think i’ve had such a bad posture for years that correcting it is causing sooooooooo much muscular tension.I wouldn’t be suprised if my back cracked under this pressure..but i shall not falter and i shall not fail :soldier:

Sigh me too DD :frowning: and having a pc based job and being addicted to GS doesnt help :teary2: at aafis my colleague is always telling me IREM STRAIGHTTT and my mom is always telling me at home
:frowning:

meri ammi kehti thein ke agar ziada slouch ho kar chalay/kaam kia to KUBB nikal aaegi

tab se main theek ho gaya (dar ke) i think :halo:

dd dear: shuru main thora consciously karna parey ga posture correct. phir aadat ho jaegi zaheen khanu :smooth:

:stuck_out_tongue:

Maybe start off by doing some stretches in the morning. I know I always talk about this but I found that pilates really helps your posture.

Anyway, to start off slow, perhaps you should try pushing your shoulders down and kind of pressed back. You may notice that you bring them forward which gives the hunch effect.

Mehnaz, that's what i'm doing. PRessing shoulders backwards...and boy it hurts

I do it too. I think it's because I'm starting to have a tummy, though.

Maybe you are pushing too hard. I think you should perhaps work on bringing your shoulder blades down which will in turn pull your shoulders back.

Remember: Stomach in … chest proud … shoulders back … head up and nobody will mess with you. You will look very confident. :k:

OK, im trying it haha

I think i might have to see physio. My friend was slouchy had backaches had 2/3 physio lessons and now shes as straight as can be

I have started getting the same problem, I didn’t get much time on the computer but now that my brothers have moved to London I have the comp all to myself so I’m on it 24/7, exploring a few things and my back is getting wrecked.

I read on a chart at my father’s office that the correct position is to sit straight so that your spine is curved inwards, it really helps, makes your pecks look well massive.

omg, meeee too

in fact i was just heavily hunched over till i read this post. i can’t help it! its such a bad habit :bummer:
