I would like to know why the above topic was closed? I can see a flame in the last pages, which started from the first page, by 1 member alone, who posted crap which is unrelated to the topic. What is so difficult about deleting the post of the person who started the flame? Why do mods let it go, and in the end close the whole thread? Why can’t you let us (people who are not flaming) continue to debate the topic? :mad2:
Cheetah,
I had closed that thread, and for multiple reasons.
Do kindly read your own initial post (post#2 in the thread) and judge where the discussion was bound to head from the very begining. All members, Indian & Pakistani, seemed most interested in discussing the history and forensics of Indo-Pak conflicts etc more than the the thread subject which was India's Plans for new fighters.
You're right closing a thread isn't a very likeable option and measures are taken to save a thread by rescuing it through altering the unfavourbale inputs. However in various cases, like this one, where signs predict that cleaning wouldnt help and members would continue the flaming and mudslinging, the better option is obvious.
And ofcourse serious members are always welcome to start discussing a particular topic in a new thread, *if they really have something useful to share on the subject.
