yup yup. i also firmly believe in the notion of self-jinxing. that is, i say that i am going to go do something. then that doesn't happen.

No, I dont have a notion of "luck".
Things happen sometimes. Sometimes things are smooth, other times the waves are rough. Just ask Allah for help in the rough times, and thank Allah in the good times. This is what I try to remind myself as well.

well, I dont belive in bad luck… everything is from Allah… yes, you can change it with dua…
everything that happens to us is a result of our amaal, our dealings with others etc..
when holy prophet p.b.u.h went up for miraaj he saw certain “things” going up ( to the heavens ) some comming to earth… he asked Jibrail a.s. about them … Jibrael a.s. replied that “things” going up are amaal/dealing/ibadaat of people and the “things” comming down are orders of Allah respectively..
so, if I mess up I have no one to blame but myself…

no i dont believe in bad luck....everything happens for a reason..good or bad..and anything that happens..happens because Allah (SWT) wills it.

...don’t think that the abstractions i draw here will matter to most, but EMM excellent question.
first perhaps we must define what is good luck?
then, we must see how contextual and personal barriers cause a trip or fuse to the bad luck happening, soon.
and then, maybe we can say that there is such a thing as bad luck.
in and of itself, though, bad luck is what you think it is - it could actually be without any identity.
it could become good, because it is bad.
bad luck can also be suffered by someone to make a difference in the life of someone else.
hope is that bad luck is not tormenting anyone, but it is able to teach patience and faithfulness to what one truly feels is the right thing to do and to never give up.
bad luck is when all else fails and destiny or the greater scheme of the Maker over throws all plans and moving towards them.
until then, there is NO BAD LUCK.
it's merely in the heads of maybe people who do not want to have good luck - by not taking the stance against injustice and unfairness or are not strong enough to take on the world to prove it wrong in its deception, in its obnoxious deceit and self serving petty motives.

I think its all about "niath".
When some of my co-workers are at work,
plenty of events goes wrong.
I quote inside whenever I have to do something
important or make things happen:
"Im sending out positive thoughts and positive energy.
Doors open up, I bring good. "
As for personal things:
I simply refuse to control things being influenced by
bad intentioned people. Its their loss at end.
I do my best and move on.

I used to be very very lucky, but i am not anymore! i think someone stole my luck!!
does anyone know how to undo that! if someone steals your luck, how do u get it back!?!

there is such a thing as luck. if u work out it can be good, if u dont and then u age it turns very bad. so yes there is bad luck
