HI guppies! I am not going to go in lot of details so the situation is something like this. last week, while driving back home, i saw my close friend (lets assume him as X) with couple of guys and most of them were smoking. Now this didnot surprise me cauze i know lot of guyz his age do that stuff (not that i would encourage him). Now when i got home and around the night time, another friend of his called me and said that he was with X today and he shouldn’t be hanging around with those guyz cauze they are not the right pple to be with (he told me they supply cocaine, weed and stuff to students in the school). I was little shocked and took it serioulsy since i saw X with my own eyes with those pple. Later in the night, I called him and told him about how i saw him with those guys and I dont want to see him hanging around with them cauze one of these days, he will come under peer pressure and would try that stuff ( I didnt mention to him about his friend calling me). He laughed and told me not to worry cauze he understand the risks and is not that stupid to try it even if they force him. Now today, i got call from his same friend that he saw X with those pple again. Now the point is, I know how bad influence can affect a person, specially someone his age and i fear that he would get involved in this very soon. I want to talk to his parents but i hesitate since i want to resolve this between me and him. Do you guys think is there a better way or i should just step in and tell his parents. BTW, his parents are really strict and they might take it way too seriously.
how old is he? talk to him about it again n if he still doesnt listen then maybe tell his bro or sis..do u know them? I think parents would probably ground him or something n then he would probably hate u for saying crap about him to his parents
He is seventeen. I was thinking of discussing with his older sister but i know she would tell the parents right away.
n then he would probably hate u for saying crap about him to his parents
Yep, thats why i am hesitating to take this step but at the same time, i think it wouldnt be so bad if his sister tells them.
well talk to him first over and over again, n tell em that ur seriuosly concerned n then talk to the sister
It's a delicate situation.
Keep up the communication with him. I think at least one of his family member should know about this.
i think you should talk to his dad about it n ask his dad to keep ur name out of it
once a boy gets into bad company and develops these habits, it is very very difficult to bring him back...
and this will affect his health, his studies, his character, everything
so do anything and everything to save him...even if he hates u now for breaking it to his parents, when he matures he will surely realise that what u did was for his own good and will be thankful to u
Dude don’t be a snitch man! What are the parents gonna do? Just tell him not to hang out with thes guys and that’s it? They’re not going to be with him when he’s outside or in school. He’s 17 he should knows what good or bad for him. They show “Don’t do dugs!” adds on the TV all day long. Just talk to him, if he does’nt listen to you, then screw him. He ain’t your pal!
And did I tell you - I HATE SNITCHES!

Samael: Sorry to bust your bubble beta, son, putar (pick you favorite adjective) but at age 17 you don't know how to properly wipe your a$$ let alone tell the difference between right or wrong. At age 17 your male harmones are jumping out of your skin and telling you to do crazy things (things un-imaginable). Been there, done that, got a few too many tee-shirts. Peace.
FaisalJawad 007: have you seen these kids personally do drugs or are we assuming that they just do. Remember assumption is the mother of all Fcuk-ups. Talk to your friend face to face. If you are so concerned why don't you hang out with him more often or engage him in other activities, in other words keep him busy to the point that the bad a$$es loose interest in him and your friend in them. Don't threaten him with "I wil tell the parents", it will have adverse effects.
One more thing just seeing him and worrying ain't gonna change anything it is the action that you take. If he is your friend (as you say) then you need to take control of the situation and constantly be on his a$$ like a marine drill instructor.
If all fails do tell his parents even if it means loosing a friendship. I'd rather loose a friendship than loose a friend to drugs. I wish you success in your endeavor.

Oye buzuurgo, uncle, buddhey (pick your fav. adjective) but at age 17 some kids have jobs, drivers licenses, some are in college or getting ready to get into college. So I'm sure they can wipe their ass quite well and clean. The male hormones start to jump around 12 now. Your comparing them to you, are you sure you were'nt a late bloomer? :D:D:D
Some kids, Samael, not all. What I meant by male harmones was that at age 17 people do crazy things without understanding the repurcussions. Sometimes it can be pretty dangerous and have serious consequences. Now I agree that it is all about growing up, but nothing wrong with steering someone in the right direction.
Chill-out
Thanks alot to all of you guys for giving your advice.
Irem: I like the idea of Sticking to him 24/7 lol but the prob is he lives far from my place and i dont really get a chance to meet him often. I think it would be better to talk to his older sister then his dad because i dont want this to get too serious (i never actually saw him doing it, i just saw him with the guys who do this stuff). I
Tikhi Jalebi: yeah this is wat i am planning to do
little human: yeah i have his other friend who lives close to him trying to get more details about his whereabouts with those guys.
Sheikhsahab: i am not assuming or saying that he does drugs, i am just worried that he might start doing it if he hangs around with them. And yeah, i will try to keep an eye on him more now.
Samael: LOL, yaar i am not trying to be snitch. I just want to let one of his family member know about this so they are aware if his behaviour or daily activities changes.
