So I have an extra battery that I kept as a backup. I ended up needing it couple days ago but it had already drained to about 60%. I was wondering how long does a battery last that is just sitting there. Just so I can recharge my backup battery and not have a dead backup battery.
Re: Backup Battery
Good question.
I think they lose charge a little bit everyday. Before you leave on your next trip, just recharge and take with you incase. I have 2 spares for my S3. I was supposed to go on a trip early last month that got cancelled but I had charged my spares to a 100%. Just a few days ago (so about a month later) I tried one of those spares on my phone and it was at 87% charge.
Re: Backup Battery
hmm mine had only been charged for a couple weeks. I bet I didn't charge it fully but I totally thought I did. I will make sure to charge 100% this time and see how is goes.
On my first android phone the G1 I bought an extended battery instead of a spare battery. Could not be doing with carrying around two batteries.
My moto gets through the day...easy :)
Re: Backup Battery
As posted the battery does loose power a little every day, but it won't have gone to 60% in a few weeks. Make sure you're not shorting it somehow, keep it away from metallic surfaces where you store it. Also, the cold weather effects it too. Wrap it in some thick, warm pouch or plastic casing should keep it going.
