Re: Background check
short of hiring a PI, and a good one at that, there really is no way to find out everything you might want to know about someone.
this is a monumental task.
btw....I read a quick tidbit of news somewhere that woman found out about her husband marrying another woman from FB......she saw pics of the wedding!!!!
Re: Background check

LOL at the turning point ![]()
What kind of a stupid man was that ![]()
But yeah, I think you can pay like $15 to get an online record of someone’s criminal record/ past registered marriages etc. if applicable.
It’s so hard finding rishtas these days ![]()
Re: Background check
a rishta came for my younger sister, through a rishta auntie....
I decided to do an internet search and found some posts from a guy who used to date the guy's sister. He was basically warning everyone to stay away from this family. They were here illegally, doing shady business, etc....
I then proceeded to search him on facebook, and since his profile and his sister's profile were open. He did not seem like someone who would be appropriate for my sister. So we decided to say no...
The question is.. is it our responsibility to tell the rishta auntie all the info we found on this family, or do we not say anything (since we actually dont really know him and his family)...
Re: Background check
^ Hmmmm... I wouldn't
Re: Background check
Um, of course you should!^^
that's another girl's life at risk.
Re: Background check
^ that girl also has a responsibility to look into the family just like the poster did.
Why I would keep quiet...
If all I knew was through facebook and what others have said, then there is even the smallest chance that it may not be what it seems. Not everyone shows their true self online/on facebook.....for all I know, that guy who was posting may be bitter and spreading lies....who knows for sure?
I don't want to put myself and my family in a situation that we may be accused of "starting rumors" about others...and end up getting involved in a mess. At most, I would probably tell the rishta aunty that she should check the guys' facebook herself.
