Re: "backbiting" - drawing the line
Something I've noticed about desis generally is the strong aversion regarding "backbiting". So when people - or more specifically the ladies - get together, of course they talk. About who is doing what, who married who, who's having babies etc etc. Newsy stuff but it can also ALL be considered to be backbiting. So where and how do you draw the line?
i consider it backbiting when you are talking bad about someone behind their back **or **you are airing out their personal information...information that others may not know. I never really considered talking about one getting married or having a baby backbiting since this is information that most likely has already been announced.
I could be wrong in my thinking though.
