Back to the future

As a long time resident of Gupistan. I have often noticed, that when trying to justify actions of contemporary times, many people here evoke examples from 1500 years ago. So if a question is whether woman should wear a skirt above the knee, they suggest “no, ayesha bibi never wore a skirt above her knee”..when asked if muslims should be trading swaps, they say, “no..mohammad forbade Riba” etc.

I was talking about this with a chinese friend the other day, who said, something concise, " people who look to live their life will always be running behind the present..with no hope for the future"

Kind of makes sense

Re: Back to the future

Then your friend also said, “Raamen noodle, 2 dollahhhh”.

Re: Back to the future

not the way you wrote it… kindly go backwards and insert missing words

Re: Back to the future

Good call guppilicious

"people who look to live their life based on the past will always be running behind the present..with no hope for the future"

Re: Back to the future

PD, did he also know that people who forget their past are most prone to repeating their mistakes. Tell him to try that on for a size....maybe he will appreciate this nugget from his country fella (Conficous)

One who runs after car, gets exhausted.

Re: Back to the future

thank you for the correction… it shows that we can learn from errors made in the past and correct them for the present and future… and benefit from positive aspects of the past for a better life in the present and future

Re: Back to the future

^ how explicit..guppy jaani..somehow common sense is not so common though. What does a woman living in arabia during the 7th century has to do with fashion in the 21st? or camel traders in the 7th century with derivative traders in the 21st? NADA...

True or false, the most perfect system of life per muslim thought was during mohammad's time?

Re: Back to the future

the most perfect system of life is that which is guided by God's revelation... God is able to see beyond the 7th century...

Re: Back to the future

or you can look at it the way history buffs look at it - looking to history is important so you don't make the same stupid mistakes again.

But somehow, we keep looking to the future, and we forget about the fact that centuries ago, someone already did what we are doing and they f'ed up or didn't.

:)

Re: Back to the future

umm stop talking to yr chinese friends i wud say…they are all trying to jerk off the retard Confucios that is still scratching thier backs…:flower1:

Re: Back to the future

never thought failures from past were models for the muslim world. Hopeful future, I say!! :k:

Re: Back to the future

Yes I liked the movie :k:

But what it has to do with chinese :konfused:

Re: Back to the future

now, don't go twisting my words, matsui.

Mistakes in the past will not be repeated if we study history closely. Successes of the past are models to follow.

This does not mean we can't be innovative and must only look to the Past.

:)

Re: Back to the future

So you’r trying to say that muslim girls should war skirts above the knees? That makes sense to you. Fine do that. You’ll see rape , divorse , suicide , adultry rates go sky rocket.

The religion was perfected for us 1400 years ago. The Quran is here to stay and whats written in there is for all times to come and not for just that era.

And they don’t say Hazrat Aysha never wore a skirt above her knee, they say Muslim girls aren’t allowed (in Islam ) to wear the skirt above the knee. And not just 1400 years ago or today, thats for ever.

Re: Back to the future

Well, now now. Lets not exaggerate. The cause of rapes, divorces, suicides, and adultery are not due to wearing skirts above the knee, nor does it say that anywhere in Islam.

Skirts and clothing that reveals any skin falls into the issue of modesty. That's all.

Re: Back to the future

^:rotfl:

PD: The very reason to believe in the actions of people from Past for us is our FAITH and the Belief that Islam has never changed since then and won’t ever change for truth always remains truth from before beggining till after end.

The beliefs that change by time and the faith that molds during the span of time are merely some toys in the hands of devil. Nothing more, nothing less.

Re: Back to the future

:k: right

Modesty is they key, for men and women. If one is able to understand ..

Re: Back to the future

So wearing the skirt above the knee is allowed ? Or like some people would put it , its done with no bad intention in mind .

Fine it wouldn't directly lead to rise in all those but eventually its affects would.
