Bachelor Corner

Hate cooking? Or rather hate the fact that cooking takes 40 minutes out of the day when you rather be at the gym, out with friends or being a lazy bum on the couch in front of the TV?

Well this is the thread for you. Simple easy recipes that do not require you to do more than 10 minutes of work in the kitchen.

Tuna Sandwich
2 Cans of Tuna (In water and not in oil)
Mayonnaise
1 Can sweet corn (preferably a small can)
Celery
French bread
Lettuce

Instructions

  1. Basically you mix in the can of tuna with the mao, and add in the sweet corn. Usually half a can of sweet corn for one can of tuna.
  2. Chop up the celery into small pieces and add it fresh to the Tuna, mayo, corn combination.
  3. Put some lettuce on the french bread and add the tuna spread.
  4. Viola 5 minute sandwich.

Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Softened Butter - amount is up to you
2 slices of breaded
Cheese of your choice - I prefer cheddar
Basil
Parsley
Oregano

Instructions:

  1. Spread the softened butter on one side of each piece of bread.
  2. Place the cheese on the side of the toast that does not have butter.
  3. Sprinkle the parsley, basil, oregano, on the second toast again on the side that has no butter.
4., Sandwich the two slices of bread together with the buttered sides facing outwards.
  4. Cook on a skillet or frying pan till cheese is melted.

If you like the taste you may try to mix the spices on the buttered side of the toast and fry it that way. So the spices are on the outside.

Re: Bachelor Corner

I have a recipe: shrimp fettucine in lemon butter sauce.

Put fettucine pasta on to boil.

While pasta is boiling, take a clove of garlic add it to a sizzling pan (with oil) then add frozen or fresh shrimp. Add a pat of butter, lemon juice, salt, pepper and fresh julienned basil (if you don't have any fresh herbs - you can use dry italian seasoning flakes).

Saute until shrimp is pink and tender. During this time, pasta should have boiled and be al dente, drain water, add pasta to the pan with the shrimp and toss well to coat the pasta and voila - a 15 minute meal.

Oh this one sounds yummy! Perhaps I'll try it tonight with a bit of Alfredo sauce!

I was trying to save time for the guys. Alfredo sauce instead of lemon/butter sauce works (will add about 10 minutes to the cooking time). Another option is shrimp with pesto sauce. I'm too lazy to make my own pesto - I buy it bottled from the store - just as easy as the lemon butter sauce.
