Baby wearing

Baby bjorn apparently is the best one around. But it’s sooo expensive. Any recommendations for cheaper yet sturdy and comfy baby carriers.

Re: Baby wearing

how long can one wear this? i wonder if its too late for me

Re: Baby wearing

Depends on baby’s weight I guess. For you I recommend a lightweight pram since baby can sit up now.

Re: Baby wearing

the umbrella strollers? how much is one for? I cant lug around the graco for liberty shopping

Re: Baby wearing

I got a lightweight one from mothercare for 4k over a year ago. Used it singlehandedly whilst alone in taxis. Malls, airports, etc. the bulkier one I had gotten initially was/is useless.

Re: Baby wearing

I used mothercare Baby carrier till 6 months mostly on air Port only, after that light pushchair

Re: Baby wearing

Alot of people dont recommend Baby Bjorn type carriers because of the unnatural way it makes the babies’ legs hang down straight. Its better to have a carrier that allows their legs to be in a froggy position. Check out the Moby wrap and Ergo

Re: Baby wearing

^ that. We bought the britax carrier and it is brilliant. The bub was too heavy for us weaklings to really get much use out of it but our friends are still happily using it for their more average sized baby and loving it! It’s comfortable and the kid is comfortable and sitting on his/her bum rather than dangling from the crotch. See if you can find one in a second hand store or online on Craigslist?

deme, depending on the carrier, how heavy your kid is, and how strong you are, you can wear your kiddo past year 1.

Re: Baby wearing

I was working when my son turned 2 months, I used a baby carrier till he was almost 7 months, he was a heavy baby mashAllah.

Re: Baby wearing

I got a backpack for her, used it up until she was 3 years old. Traveled the world with her on my back.

The Baby Bjorn didn’t work for me, it hurt my back, I’d rather carry a heavy load on my back than my front, but I know people who swear by the Baby Bjorn.

Re: Baby wearing

All u need is some sturdy fabric … Wrap it around baby and u …and off u go.

Re: Baby wearing

Aww aahmed… She was so little… Sigh.

Re: Baby wearing

Re: Baby wearing

Hello there lunalovegood, I’ve seen quite a few moms and dads baby wear in Pakistan lately, I still haven’t gotten around to purchasing a baby carrier yet, will probably do once baby is 2-3 months old.

Re: Baby wearing

i’m also a part-time wrapper. most of the time i got weird look when i wrap in malls so i usually use my buckles. lol i have a 4 years old and an almost 2 year old, i still wear them both, though the 2y.o prefer running around these days.
