Baby Walker

What is the appropriate age for baby walker ?

My daughter is 8 months old now masha allah (adjusted age 6 months).

We took her to babyshop and there she tried many walkers. She was only & only interested in the toys attached with the walker. We have not bought one yet. I need suggestions before I buy.

Re: Baby Walker

first off.. baby walkers are dangerous.. as they tip over when teh baby is way too eagerly walking… not to mention falling down the stairs etc.. but i used a baby walker myself as a baby as do all my cousins and we are all alive and well  just use it with care never letting baby out of ure sight

with that out of the way… i too put my son in a baby walker at 8 months cuz he was crawling at 6 and standing up and trying to walk himself .. would get frustrated at not being able to and always wanted to be around me.. i was getting tired so i put him in one and he didnt know what to do with it… he was too intrested in toys and putting them in his mouth… i let him try it out for 2 weeks but he just didnt get it… i didnt bother with it anymore… he kept trying himself and lo and behold, he started walking at 9 months. walkers DO hinder the child’s ability to will itself to achieve milestones such as self walking. i wouldnt recommend it.. but if u feel you want to.. no harm in trying it out

i would otherwise really recommend an excersaucer.. its like a walker with all the toys attatched.. the baby can bounce in it too.. and rotate 360 and play with all the toys around it.. but isnt mobile.. its afer and way way way much more fun. my son LOVED his excersaucer and kept out of my hair for an hour or 2 everyday!

this is what i am talking bout

Re: Baby Walker

Thanks Khawateen for your elaborated input :flowers:

I also just came to know about exersaucer…didn’t even know such thing existed :bummer: but it looks very interesting and I am sure my baby would love it too. I don’t think it would be that easily available in Pakistan and I have never seen it here too. I will have to search for it !
