Baby Swing

my 6 week baby only falls asleep when being rocked and i’m looking into buying a swing to make life a little bit easier for me. any suggestions on which swings are good?

the two i’m looking at now are from toys r us, they both say they go up to 11kg…i want something that he will not grow out of too fast. any advice which is better???

I have this in my baby registry due to AWESOME reviews and because it was recommended by a mommy on GS.. if I dont get it, I will purchase it

Oh haha that's what I have too. I actually got it from Wal-mart. I see things at babies r us, read reviews there but always end up finding it for much cheaper at walmart.

oh man, i went through so much research on swings and the one i ended up getting is this one- Bright Starts™ – Kids2, LLC

we have the bright starts ingenuity automatic bouncer too and he loves both of them. the swing folds up and can be moved very easily which is helpful since i come to spend days at my parents and we can take it with us on vacaton too. the music is really good and not annoying which is a bonus

i had bought the fisher price “luv u zoo” swing and i wouldn’t recommend it to anyone! it was such a horrible piece of plastic. took me a while to assemble only to find the motor creaked, one of the legs kept lifting off the ground, and the pre-drilled holes were crooked so the seat was tilted. i returned it the next day and got the brightstarts one.

the other fisher price swings are constructed much better but babies r us was sold out of the Lamb one, and the Papasan Starlight model isn’t sold in canada. that one has over 1300 reviews on Amazon.com and is rated 4 stars!

oh and outside of Graco, all swings go up to 25 lbs. the Graco ones go up to 30 lbs.

This happens with the little lamb swing too and the reason is that to maintain the balance the swing does that. Its perfectly okay and baby doesn’t feel that. I did a lot of research when I saw the same problem with my swing. My baby absolutely love his swing.

i dunno, spiral, that sounds counterintuitive... plus it doesn't say that its to maintain stability anywhere on the package and if its a feature of the swing, shouldn't it be mentioned somewhere? plus everytime the leg lifted up, the whole thing would rock a little more- it seemed very unstable to me. two of my friends also had/have the little lamb and the leg wasn't doing that on their swings which also makes me think its not a normal thing for the swing. regardless of that, there was also the loud creaking with each swing and the crooked seat in the Luv U Zoo but someone else I know has the Luv U Zoo and she had none of these issues so maybe i picked up a defective piece.

i know the little lamb is super popular- all the babies i know who have it, love it a lot!

i also have the starlight papasan swing for my baby and she loves it! highly recommend...i think the snugglebunny and little lamb swings are the closest to this one. we also got the fisher price rainforest swing to keep at my mom's place...she likes that one too.

one thing that was very important to us when purchasing a swing- we wanted something that can be plugged in and not rely soley on batteries.
