Baby Shower Registry

I would love some advice on what to put on my registry! I am having a winter baby but also am not the crazy shopping type so don’t want to go on a buying frenzy. Registered can be basic and elaborate, I just want to be in the middle. I just want to know what all the basics and essentials are so we can be prepared for the worst in case of c-section scenarios, surgery anything else etc. My baby showers in a month and I’ve registered at Buy Buy Baby. Would love your thoughts!

Re: Baby Shower Registry

You can look for other user's list who have registered at buybuybaby. Clothes is something that you will get regardless for the baby. So try putting up things like diaper bag, swaddlers, baby monitor and stuff like that. I will see if I can post up a link from babiesrus of someone's registry that might give you an idea, :)

Re: Baby Shower Registry

My essentials are: A pack and play, diaper genie, Boppie, diaper changing table, a stroller (if you have generous close relatives might wanna give that), car seat, a rocker, bassinet or a co sleeper bed for those first few months; a infant tub, Also make sure to put some items on there that you will need later on too, like a highseat, gymini, a walker. I also put a dr. brown bottle gift set that came with the bottle warmer, and someone gave me that as a gift, its really helpful! Also put in some good quality swaddle blankets, and make sure you put you're open to gift cards as well, So you can use them for diapers!

Re: Baby Shower Registry

Hubby and I were not comfortable putting big ticket items on the registry, so those we just bought ourselves. Some low-medium priced items on our list were: baby bathtub, changing mat (you will need one for home and a foldable travel option as well), baby monitor, bottles set incl sterilizer, diaper bag, diaper pail, baby bouncer or swing (they come in all price ranges), baby grooming kit. And of course clothes, bedding, and toys as you see fit.

Re: Baby Shower Registry

i would include:

diaper bag
changing mat
diapers
diaper rash creams/ointments
bath tub and lotions/bathing items
wash cloths, burp cloths
formula
baby bottles and accessories you may need (bottle warmer, sterilizer, nipples)
blankets/swaddlers
onesies, mittens, hats, socks
bouncer/swing
stroller
play mat
pack n play
gift cards

Re: Baby Shower Registry

also, i would suggest registering at amazon (people can purchase online and have it shipped to your house!) as well as target (they send you AWESOME coupons and freebies before and after you have the baby!).

and sign up on similac and enfamil for free coupons, etc!

Re: Baby Shower Registry

Don’t list clothes…too many gifts.

I didn’t use the diaper pail - we take out our trash everyday so that made it useless. I ended up gifting to someone.

I had a winter baby too…January 6th…

I found the Bundle Me useful
Humidifier
Caps…we went through so many caps :smack: I’d lose them because they were so tiny but since I had an arsenal of them it was great
Pumping Bra…don’t register for this but its good to get on your own
Boppie
Bath STAND - not the tub. I found Angel Care’s bath stand super useful since I was a new mom. It was so easy to bathe him in it. He’s almost 8 months and I still use it sometimes because it lets me wash his hair while he’s laying back and he doesn’t get startled.
Washcloths - tons of them
Good quality swaddling blankets

Re: Baby Shower Registry

Thanks you guys!! I have been reviewing and most of these items are now covered. I've been told by many that in reality you want everything but use only the basics. Two things I'm confused about like you said Reha I also want a nice bathtub. Have to go back to see what I put but I will look into yours, don't think it sounded familiar at Buy Buy Baby. And also the importance of sterilizers?? Did you really use them? For a long time?
