So I’m mashallah 21 weeks and a bit pregnant (so glad to be over the 20 weeks mark and scan bit!). I will be taking maternity leave asap, but before then I will be taking 4 weeks annual leave.
So that everyone gets the chance to say goodbye at work we are having a lunch do. I’ve not really been to any baby showers, and as I have a group of friends who wish to see me before baby arrives I’ve decided to go for a meal at my local turkish restaurant (no cooking on my part-bonus!). We’ve had meals here before and they do some lovely food, very traditional and massive portions!
I’m looking at organising a few games to play, and also at favours. As I plan to have a sweets (candy) buffet do I need to give out favours or do the sweets become the actual favour?
I’ve checked out the threads on GS about baby showers, and I’m struggling for a theme (we were unable to see if baby is a girl or boy). If I’m having a sweets buffet shall I do something like charlie and the chocolate factory? Any ideas of decor/table decorations?
I’m actually quite excited now, I must have been nervous from when I found out I was pregnant to the 20 week scan! If anyone else out there is pregnant and worried they worry too much, relax, Inshallah once you get to the 20 week scan you’ll be able to enjoy being pregnant.

My baby showed theme was yellow duckies 
and my cake had a princess ducky on it 
(I’m having a girl). It was a surprise shower and soooo totally cute.
There are tons of baby shower games online, just google and you’ll be able to find them.
For my shower, the party favors were these small fairy figurines … so I would definitely recommend something that could be kept as a keepsake since everyone loved them and I could also keep one in my keepsake box :).
I've found some great games online. Duckies sounds like a lovely theme.
Will look into keepsakes.
My closest friends live far away, so for them to do me a shower would be literally impossible so I thought heck, it's my day and I'll have a shower if I want to!

I m having a baby shower for my cousin...n its tomorrow. she wanted to keep the sex of the baby a secret so i had to plan a non boy/girl theme baby shower....not fun :(
i m doing a polka dot theme baby shower. The main colors are green and yellow, but more of the green. I got some stuff fromstores and the rest i made myself. I cut out a lot of circles (plain yellow/green paper and some polka dot paper i got from scrap booking department). which i will use all over my living room (walls and hang some of them from the sealing). I got green table cover but will cover them with little circular confetti. Also got centerpieces...with polka dots on them.
If you dont like this idea...another theme i noticed at party city was ducky stuff (they have a lot of stuff).
For your favors i think the candy should be enough...just make sure u have little bags for the candy.
