baby shopping

I didn’t know where to post this so I’m posting it here: Is there a certain time period when baby things go on sale or is it year round? I feel like it’s the season for baby stuff since most people plan to have babies in the spring or summer and I see baby things every where I go. I don’t remember if it stays this way year round or not. I know people have babies year round but if the sales are more seasonal around this time of year, what would be the latest time to cash in on the sales for someone have an autumn baby?

Re: baby shopping

I dont know what you really need, but I had an autumn baby and the best time for cloths I found the summer end sales, but as usual I was late so most of the good things were gone, I then bought the things that I liked most each time we went out shopping, my first baby so I didnt look into saving money.

I prepared well beforhand, so we were finished one month prior to the baby, didnt wanted to stress myself in the last month of pregnancy.

Hope this helped you.

Re: baby shopping

u wont be able to catch any fall sales right now. clothes go on sale right before the next season begins. So clothes for the fall generally go on sale right before the winter season begins.

Right now summer clothes are on sale because they are starting to bring out their new fall line. So if you want to get cheap summer clothes for your baby i suggest you buy them for next summer (ages 12months and up). Also you can buy your baby some summer clothes to wear in the fall since it's still fairly warm in september (depending on where u live).

Best baby clothes sales in USA are at Old Navy, Children's Place, and H & M. I shop for my neices and nephews from these stores all the time...they have the cutest things for a reasonable price. :)

Re: baby shopping

Oh mannnn i wanna go to H&M and buy a ton of things for my nephew

Gap is also nice, but i think its a lil overpriced, at least for real clothes rather than basics (socks, undershirts etc).

Re: baby shopping

Baby Gap and GAP kids has the cutest baby stuff but i dont think its worth spending so much money on clothes for a baby that is going to out grow them in a matter of months if not weeks.

Re: baby shopping

true!

I find girls stuff to be soooooooooooooooooo much cuter

Re: baby shopping

I dress my daughter from Babygap cos they have the cutest clothes ever. But Babygap has great sales as well.

Re: baby shopping

yea their sales are good but I used to work there back in the day...and the only time we put stuff on sale is when sizes such as newborn and xs were left over (odd sizes that dont sell that often).

Re: baby shopping

Yeah I hate when theres a sale size ZERO is the only thing left :grumpy:
I wonder why they make so many size zeros since they never really sell. I really think its a way to keep fat ppl outta their stores :naraz:

Re: baby shopping

The sales in London r pretty good in that sense-all clothes r reduced cos the new season stuff comes in. But i have to say the selection of clothes in the Gap stores in USA is much better than in London. I bought loads of stuff from Gap in the States(during the sales) but here the sales for womens stuff is just crap! But the baby stuff is greatly reduced and its in all sizes.

Re: baby shopping

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I am mostly looking for things like car seats, cribs, and anything else we have to buy for a newborn baby and ourselves apart from clothes. There have been sales on car seats and cribs and I was wondering if those are more frequent in the summer season than in autumn.

Re: baby shopping

those items are pretty much random. my sister always got coupons from babies r us for those items in the sunday newspaper.

Re: baby shopping

Check out www.babycenter.com. They're having a summer sale right now and frequently offer free shipping. I've purchased many things from this site and gotten good deals with fast delivery. I find it easier to order online rather than in stores.
