I know that now a days registries are easier so when ppl want to give gifts they don’t end up buying double stuff. Can already mothers or other experienced non-mothers suggest what type of things that expecting mothers should add to registry? For example I know car seat, strollers etc. But there are so many different types it gets all confusing. So suggest what works well from experience.
Re: Baby Registry
Here's some stuff you will need:
onesies, many many many
toileteries & bath stuff
bathing tub
hooded towels
socks, many many many
little topies
nail cutters, nose bulbs, thermometers
wash cloths
pacifiers, maybe bottles
3 months - 6 months one piece outfits depending on season
baby massage oil
diaper genie
and the list goes on...
Re: Baby Registry
there are so many things...go to babies are us or something to check it all out...they usually give u a list of everything you need and should put on there. hopefully ppl will use it as i know desis cant follow any sort of direction...only about half bought off mine.....
Re: Baby Registry
What type of stroller/crib/baby items you get depends on your needs (city or suburb), price, taste and preferences.....You can buy a stroller that costs 1000 dollers or 100...it all depends on what you need it for.
i'd talk to friends who have kids and then spend some time at Babies are us picking. Also there is a book " baby bargains" it's really good for reviews of the top brands, comparing everything from strollers, cribs to car seats etc and gives recommendations.
Re: Baby Registry
Niksik: thanks for the list of products
amelie: sometimes ppl like certain type of car seat or stroller because it is easier to handle or is safe for the baby....i just want to know what ppls opinions are so that when I do go out and make a registry i can keep it in mind. I will also check out the book that u suggested...thanks.
Re: Baby Registry
I personally liked the travel system for carseat..its car seat/stroller that fits seat in one..it just worked out well in the beginning, it was easy to take baby in the seat while he was still sleeping. Also then the seat fits easily into a comfy stroller for baby. That was a benefit...the only hassle is that now we need to buy another car seat, which we wouldnt if we had gotten convertible up front.
Hmm I would say lots of onesies but in diff sizes, babies outgrow so quickly. Hmm i wouldn't buy too many baby bottles. I know on registry you can put like a 30 pc set...but I advise against it. For me, i had to go through 4-5 brands till my son finally was good with using. He didnt want to drink from certain bottles, not sure if it was the nipple, the angle, the size...not sure.
Can't go wrong with diapers/wipes/baby shampoo/lotion/oil...can't have enough of that. You may want to put a playpen on the list if you have space for it. Hmm. Baby blankets, fleece for winter months, cotton for summer...depends when is baby due. A baby sling is a nice thing to have for first few months to carry baby in while u are out n about.
Re: Baby Registry
I went to Baby's R Us for registry...it was the hardest thing ever. Couldn't figure out what to get..what product was worth paying for a higher price vs what product should be bought for cheap just to get by. Also what brands are good to use??? With baby bottles, sterilizers, and warmers....are they really needed in registry? And what brands are good? I know I got a few free baby bottles from stores that are Avent bottles....also what about baby products...which ones are trusted and good??? I know there always used to be and still is Johnson's...but now there is Huggies and others...plz suggest. Thanks.
