Re: Baby Organization Ideas
You don’t need formal baby furniture as far as a dresser. We used those cheap plastic drawer bins from target and put them in our closet. They are stackable and don’t look altogether horrid and because they are stackable, you can expand your storage as your needs grow. Because they are transparent, you can mostly see which drawer has what. A drawer or two for onesies, a drawer for coats and cold weather cover ups, a drawer for socks, a drawer for shirts, a drawer for pants, a drawer for matched outfits, etc, you get the idea. Also, as S02 mentioned, keep a 1.5 Cu Ft cardboard box somewhere in a storage room or something for clothes that are too small. As soon as you notice that baby has outgrown any clothes, they go in the box. You then take that box and store it away for a year or two. After a year or two, revisit those boxes and see if you want to save them for sentimental reasons or donate them.
Another important tip, when you do laundry for baby, don’t bother folding the clothes, baby clothes are SO tiny and fitted that when they wear them, you can’t see any wrinkles, and moreover, you don’t care if they are wrinkled. This will save you hours on folding time. I used to do laundry and take the clean clothes from the laundry basket and open all the drawers, then I’d play a game of basket ball dunks from the laundry basket to the appropriate drawer, see, laundry can be fun.
OK, I’m done with my useless advice, good luck and God speed. When are you due?
I like the idea of the clear bins we can just stack on top of each other in our closet a lot. I think I might go for that versus buying all out furniture. And you’re right about baby clothes being too tiny to do much with aside from dumping into drawers..lol.
I am due January 15th Inshallah…cannot wait to meet my little bean!!!
