Re: baby lotion
Coconut oil alllllllllllllll the way dude! I use it…my sisters use it for their kids as a moisturizer and for maalish and its sooo much better for them than any lotion we’ve used. They used to use Aveeno Baby but stopped. Also, Amaya…you might want to stop thinking this way. It will affect your baby and I don’t think its healthy. I mean I am sure aap taleem yafta ho…ye batein educated logon pe achi nahin lagti hein. Shukar karo that your baby is healthy…if his skin is a tad darker than yours…there’s nothing wrong with that. Skin color changes over the course of time for kids - even when they get older. I was fair when I was born…dark as a pre-teen and then lightened up a bit as an adult. Its an ever changing thing. My niece was so pale as a baby and darkened just a little bit as she got older…now she’s the most beautiful golden color ever Mashallah. Stop being ungrateful…he should be perfect to you the way he is. Reminds me of this classmate of mine who was super dark - her mother used to buy her fair and lovely on a monthly basis.
Re: baby lotion
Right, and so many beautiful children grow up with complexes. I think it wouldn’t be quite so bad if your parent taught you to stand up for yourself and not be daunted by other people’s silly opinions. But to see the parents themselves agreeing with this thinking is really disturbing. I’ve heard it from some of the most “progressive” and “open-minded” desis I know.
Re: baby lotion
Wait till your little one is in school… Honestly children change completion as they grow. It is not a biggie, if you have any medical concerns then consult a doctor. If not then grow up. No need to lock him in an air conditioned room. Let him move around the house.

Neither my husband, nor myself are fair. Our firstborn son is so gora chitta, he looks positively pink sometimes…people ask us if we’re sure there wasn’t a mix up in the hospital at birth. ![]()
Sometimes I wonder if I should use a tanning cream on him so that he matches us ![]()

Re: baby lotion
I use a brand called Live Clean. They sell shampoos, diaper rash creams, body lotions etc. Their products are 98% made of completely natural ingredients. Very gentle on the skin and very very light scent.
