We also kept her bassinet mattress elevated at the head end a bit, so she was always lying on a downward slant. All these small things helped with the restlessness caused by reflux. She still suffers from it, but she is a much better sleeper. That comes with age too. At about 10 weeks she started sleeping 4-6 hours a night. And then a few weeks later, started going longer than that.
**i hope that happens with me too.. i cant wait till she sleeps atleast 3-4 hrs nite. btw she sleeps with me on my bed. there is a small “bister” kinda thing that has pillow and side cushions (long ones) and she sleeps on that. will try elevating it. i wanna put her in a cot that i bought for her but its too big and i thot itll b a hassle if i put her in it if shes small. i was thinkin maybe i shud put her when shes big enough.. abt 5-6 mnths. what do u think. i thot until her sleepin pattern is established there is no point runnin to and from the cot. **
Our doc also recommended not starting gripe water until after 3 months, to allow her own system to adjust. They said if the discomfort seemed really bad and she starts crying a lot, it’s okay to give it. But if she calms down on her own, then let her be. Her body is learning to process the food.
**ive tried givin her gripe water once when she cried… didnt help. i even tried colicaid twice when she was cryin hysterically .. that didnt help either. **
Also, you say you have good supply – that’s great! Does she have a good latch. Is she definitely getting a good amount of milk to fill her up? Make sure she empties one side before switching to the other. After about 10-15 minutes, your milk is fattier, and that can help fill up a baby. It’s important to have a good balance of hind milk and foremilk.
**yeah she seems to have a gud latch. only that the poor soul coughs. she used to choke also before.. now not that mch. i know the milk is sprayin in her mouth cus i can hear her swallow. i am tryin to do the one breast at a time thing but after few hrs it is engroged again and i end up using the same breast again. sometimes it hurt soo bad i dunno which breast to offer. **
Have you tried cutting back on caffeine?
i never drank coffee during preg and not even now.
btw sahar when can we strt a baby’s routine? my MIL has spoiled her big time. she cries whenever we lay her down on bed. its so frustrating cus she wud sleep on my chest but once i put her down she cries like hell.. i dunno how long shud i continue rockin her on my chest/body. even if i lay her down she is in soo mch commotion i dunno wot to do. as if shes disturbed or in pain. shes never still.
