Just wanted to know that if the scan is difficult and gender not idnetified mean no BIO parts of the baby is seen and the doctor is saying is that may be she is a girl at 20 weeks so what you ladies reccommannd are they right about the gender or still confusing …
Re: baby gender
I don't think the scans are 100% true anyway.. I have heard about quite a few Marys born to be Andrews!
Re: baby gender
at 20 weeks the dr told that baby may be a girl because she was breech at that time so she was not 100% sure…she was right i had a baby girl alhamdolilah :jano:
Re: baby gender
Hmmmm well i do want and hope inshAllah to get a baby girl but its still not confirm :(
Re: baby gender
My 17 week ultrasound showed girl, but the u/s person wouldn't say for sure. She said she was 70% certain. She says even when she's completely positive, she tells people 95%.
We had a girl :D
Re: baby gender
the dr shouldnt be saying anything if they dont know for sure.
i would treat it as just that.. a guess.. and hope that they can confirm the gender at a later ultrasound...
Re: baby gender
Scans are not a 100% correct.
We were told at our 18 week scan that it is a girl.I did ask the tech if she was sure and she said pretty sure.It was always a girl on all the scans done after that.
We had a girl...:D
Re: baby gender
at 20 weeks it was not visible so doctor asked me 2 wait n at 28 weeks she confirmed me the girl n i think if doctors r not sure they would not tell
Re: baby gender
well hope devlish angel well i will not have scan afetr after wards i think in uk we have 2 time scan only if every thing is fine and normal its just the doctot said that she didnt see the bio parts which can tell her for sure thats making me curious .
yes i thought that she would have said me that she cant see the baby clear but she said that she thinks the baby is girl that makes some tiny miny sense only :)
Re: baby gender
If you have an option, get a scan done at a later date maybe 25 week or so. Sometimes because of baby's position its hard to tell. I guess another scan will be the only way you can tell for sure the baby's gender.
In my case, I know for sure I am having a boy. 100%.
Re: baby gender
i think with new 3d scans you can actually confirm it's gonna be girl or boy.
Re: baby gender
^ It depends on the position of the baby. My very modest daughter did not give us any chance to confirm.
Re: baby gender
They will never tell you they are 100% sure even if they can clearly see the gender.
With my daughter at 20 weeks scan, the tech told us she is 99.9% it's a girl. That was good enough for me. Same thing when I was pregnant with boys. They just never ever tell you they know for sure but whatever they tell you it's accurate, that's been my experience and that's what I believe.
Ps: Also all my family/friends have had babies born to the gender they were told.
Re: baby gender
At 20 weeks the fetus is fully formed and you can clearly see through ultrasound what gender the baby is so results are pretty accurate!
Re: baby gender
Hi, can they tell the sex of the baby at 12 weeks? I'm going to ask and if they tell me that they can't tell for sure I'm going to assume it's a girl for now because if it's a boy they can usually tell quite quickly? What do u think?
Re: baby gender
^Sometimes it's obvious, but I know of a couple people who were told BOY at the 10-12 week ultrasound (they would rarely make a declaration of girl that early), but it ended up being a girl.

Here u got it wrong. At 12 week both have penis like organ, after that if its a girl, it starts going back and if its a boy it will develop more.
I was told something at week 12 and later at week 20 something else, so I assume that at week 20 its more acurate and I will stick with it. You can ask at week 12, an experience will look at the angle of the organ that is the same for both at that stage and make a guess but it will not be very acurate at that stage.
Re: baby gender
thankx ladies for your inputs..:)hope to have a baby girl insHAllah.
Re: baby gender
Sparrow,
I asked at the 12 weeks scan, the tech said she wasn't able to tell.
