Re: Baby Food for infants!

My 2 never liked tinned or jar food. They either had mashed fruit or I would cook the same as what we were having without the spices. Things like :
Potato and chicken
Potato and carrots
Broccoli and cauliflower
Khidjeree.

They did like the Heinz dried food packs like, Mediterranean veg and rice, broccoli and cauliflower cheese, which you mix with water.

Re: Baby Food for infants!

I always tasted any jarred food I gave, and if I didn’t like the taste, I did not give it to baby. The only brand I ended up using was Earth’s Best (in the US).

Baby Bullet!

My sisters and mom have rarely fed the kids jarred food. Only in cases where they really needed something portable.

They would make baby food in bulk, freeze it and just use it throughout the week.

Mom made mixtures of

Chicken and dalia
Bananas and pears
Apples and pears
Bananas
Peas
Carrots
Many many more…but what I saw when I would have the kids was it seemed the kids stayed full longer. I could be completely wrong here but when I gave them jarred food…they were hungrier and more often. When I gave them mom’s food…they did not seem hungry until their next meal time.

Re: Baby Food for infants!

Yes, you should get a baby bullet (or any blender) and make your own baby food.

I’ve given my daughter:

-Pear, Peach and carrot puree
-Spinach and Pear puree
-Kale and Pear puree
-Pear, carrot and apple puree
-Mango and banana puree
-Green peas and zucchini puree
-Chicken salan puree - The chicken salan should be mild with pretty much no mirch. Shread the chicken and blend it with some of the shorba. You can add some rice or quinoa to this too.
-Beef stew with barley and vegetables (Feed as is or puree it)

Another really good thing to feed your daughter is plain yogurt. My daughter loved eating plain yogurt. Get the greek or balkan one that is high in fat. I started this from 8 months onwards but some people like to wait until 9 or 10 months. My daughter didn’t have any issues with it though.

My suggestion is to be careful with apples and bananas though as they constipate some babies. My daughter cannot handle them so I rarely give them to her any more.

How to make puree of fruit and vegetables?
Boil them first and mash or just blend them wdout boiling?

Re: Baby Food for infants!

Steam them and then blend them.
