Re: baby eatng habbits

why are you feeding a three month old custard?

you just have to keep feeding him milk, check your diet. This might be helpful

I’ve heard that colic in breastfed babies is caused by the mother’s diet. Is this true? Some breastfed babies seem to become colicky because of something in their mother’s diet. (See our chart for a list of foods that may irritate your nursing baby.)
There’s plenty of controversy about which foods are problematic, but dairy products are some of the prime suspects. If you’re breastfeeding, try cutting back on milk, cheese, and yogurt for a couple of weeks to see whether it makes a difference. (Cow’s milk protein can remain in breast milk that long, so this dietary experiment takes some patience.)
Other suspects include spicy food, wheat products, nuts, strawberries, cruciferous vegetables (such as cabbage, broccoli, and cauliflower), garlic, caffeine, and alcohol.
To see whether one of these foods is making your baby uncomfortable, avoid them all for a few days. If your baby seems better, reintroduce one food at a time, allowing a few days between re-introductions.
If your baby starts fussing again after you start eating a certain food, you’ve discovered the offending substance. You’ll have to abstain from it until your baby outgrows his sensitivity, which will probably be at around 3 months. Of course, kicking coffee or any other food for a few months is a small price to pay for a happy baby.

Re: baby eatng habbits

I don’t know where you live, but Mylicon drops help. Don’t give the baby any food except milk. If he is on formula then ask the doctor if might change it. babies do spit out milk but projectile vomit in not normal (vomiting with force). If you feel that’s the case with your baby, do ask your doctor.

Re: baby eatng habbits

Avoid custard.

Just give him breastmilk or formula. Discuss with your doctor.

I would be careful about giving him multiple remedies like elaichi water and colic drops. Try one thing at a time. And give him a chance to improve on his own.

Are you sure he’s hungry? Is he perhaps being overfed? Is he spitting up a little or vomiting a lot? Could he have reflux issues? Have you spoken to his doctor?

Re: baby eatng habbits

I read the title “baby eating habits” thought maybe you developed a habit of eating babies.

Re: baby eatng habbits

I wanna write eatng routine. By mistaken i write habbits. I notices afte post

Re: baby eatng habbits

are you making the custard from breast milk or formula? If it is with cow’s milk, I will strongly suggest you to wait until at least he crosses his 6 month birthday. We introduced dairy in very little amount around 7/8 months.

At 4 months, you can give him some pureed vegetables, but they most consume that in very little quantity. Milk—breast or formula should feed as main source of food till 12 months.

by the way custard does not cause gas but it is cow’s milk that is difficult on an infants tummy, it can be the cause of indigestion.

Re: baby eatng habbits

or maybe talk to doctor about possible reflux?
especially if he’s crying and spitting up when you lay him down—or you could try laying him on something that’s inclined like a swing and see if that makes it better?

Re: baby eatng habbits

Yh i hv made custard from cows milk. Nw i hv stopped. Should start cerelec if yes how much quantity and how mny times and when di i give her??
And giving him breast milk and fresh milk not formula one. As hus dont agree for formula one.

Re: baby eatng habbits

Yh must go to doc as soon as possible. And then inform u wt he says.
One thnk i hv noticed when i give him fresh milk he dont spit. But when i give him breast milk he spits whole . So thinkng there is wrng in my diet or in me. Any suggestion???

Re: baby eatng habbits

And thanx all who suggest me. Thanx for ur time and advices really helpful thanks

Re: baby eatng habbits

In the US doctor’s recommend staying away from cow’s milk until 1 year of age. Some people think yogurt is ok a bit earlier, but 3-4 months sounds very early, especially given that your child is already having trouble digesting! Stick to just breast milk or formula. Make sure to burp frequently, and keep the baby’s head raised in the first 20 minutes after feeding. Custard usually has egg too, right? That is usually avoided until at least 6-8 months.

Do not start cereal yet. Give your child a chance to get used to one thing. The goal right now should be feeding a sufficient amount of breastmilk/formula. Everything else is extraneous and if you start giving other things, the milk intake will go down, which is not necessarily a good thing.

You need to ask the doctor about reflux. Then just follow a simple feeding routine for the baby, avoiding any variety, and based on the doctor’s recommendations. If anyone questions it, just say that this is what the doctor has said.

Re: baby eatng habbits

Ditto to what Sahar said!

Re: baby eatng habbits

Children are recommended not to start solids until at least 4 months, better if 6 months. I think the recommendation in most cases in Pakistan is 6 months. I think that’s where you are based?

Re: baby eatng habbits

Well thanx everyone for suggest me. I am nt giving anythng excpt milk.and he is gonna 4 . So nw after talkng with doc , will give him anytyng

Re: baby eatng habbits

I hv talked to doc a physician he said he cant digest the milk properly then how can he digest solids. Dont give him before 6 months. Spits out milk like vomit isnt due to colic.
w thnkng wt to do??

Re: baby eatng habbits

^ well, just breastfeed. maybe every two-three hours, no sooner than that. keep his head raised after feeding. make sure to burp frequently, even taking a break during the feed. did you ask about reflux/GERD? why does the doc think he is vomiting?

if you think the vomiting is due to your milk, then ask the doctor to consider whether there is some allergy that is affecting him. it’s rare, but some babies are allergic to breastmilk, and there are special formulas made for these babies.

you need to be asking your doctor what to do.
