Baby Cribs/ cots

What types of beds do u guys reccomend, a wooden cot or plastic one?
I’ve uploaded 2 pics so that u get an idea of what im talking about!!! 1st or 2nd one :konfused: ofcourse i mean the material not the exact same design

Re: Baby Cribs/ cots

First one is more practical becuase it turns to bed when the baby grows out of crib age.

Re: Baby Cribs/ cots

i like the wooden cots.

Re: Baby Cribs/ cots

second one looks comfortable for mommy ..keep in mind structure and height of the crib, when u have to reach in, and bring the baby out..ur back will get tired from the angle. so higher cribs :k:

Re: Baby Cribs/ cots

Get one of each if you can afford it, if not, check out the children's resale stores for a good pack n' play.

I've had four kids, and kept the regular crib in the baby's room (or my room when they were really small) all the time. This is where the kids slept during the night and naptime. Get a good quality mattress (springs, not foam). This is far more comfortable for baby than sleeping in a pack n'play

The pack n' play is great for putting the the living room or close to wherever you spend most of your time. It's not just for napping, it's a safe place for the baby while you are taking a shower, cooking, etc. Additionally it's great for taking on trips, as it packs up.

this is what my baby girl will sleep in, the boy on the floor :cb:

Re: Baby Cribs/ cots

Get one those bassinets that u can put next to your own bed at night...My daughter in almost 3 months old..We have a fancy crib for her but she hasnt even used that once. Since she is so small we keep her with us in our room. The bedside bassinet is more pratical..After feeding her i just put her back in there. The crib however is much larger so we keep that in the baby's room. When she is old enough to sleep on her own throughout the night we'll move her to the crib.
But in my opnion and experience..when your baby is born let her sleep with you in bed for the first 2 weeks. They are so tiny and they need some warmth..They need to be close to the person they had grown inside of so long.

Re: Baby Cribs/ cots

i've never had a child and i don't intend to for a while, but i would not advise letting the baby sleeping with u in your bed when s/he is so young...although it may seemloving and providing warmth...the danger is u may roll onto ur child whilst asleep!

Re: Baby Cribs/ cots

This is the kind of crib we used for my girls. As they grow, you can remove the drop down gate and when they are a bit older, it converts to a regular bed. A good investment if you can afford it. I highly recommend it.

a good 1 kaleem .

Re: Baby Cribs/ cots

i wanna baby :bummer:

Re: Baby Cribs/ cots

Snickers, bassinets dont last very long as kids grow so fast. By the way, bassinets are the ones that Barfe posted above. The first pic that you posted is actually at play yard. It's not meant for putting the baby to sleep overnight. Just during the day like when baby is playing, he can play in the playyard or even take a short nap during the day.

Re: Baby Cribs/ cots

snickers, the first one is more like a playpen, actually it is a playpen. it's mostly used during the day time when you have work to do at home, you can plop baby down knowing that he/she will be safe while you're working.

i suggest getting an actual crib, the second pic, because the baby needs proper back support while sleeping, which they do a lot of!

even the pic that kaleem posted, the crib that can become a toddler bed later on, it's a good idea too. it's a little more costly than a normal crib.

Re: Baby Cribs/ cots

Definitely go for what Kaleem suggested. A crib that can convert to a toddler bed. That type of crib lasted over 3 years for Safia.

Re: Baby Cribs/ cots

both cots are so cute :)
i've posted some cots on img2, seen them yet snickers baji?

Re: Baby Cribs/ cots

I got the one that Kaleem suggested, a bed that would turn into junior bed afterwards, but was of no use, my baby sleeps in my bed with me.

Re: Baby Cribs/ cots

Here’s a link to a crib converts from a baby’s crib to a toddler’s bed to 2 chairs. http://www.stokkeusa.com/sleepispec.htm

Re: Baby Cribs/ cots

My problem as well. Safia slept with us and now Maya is in our bed as well. We haven’t purchased a crib for her yet because she just grew out of her pack & play. I’m sure we’ve spoiled her already.

Re: Baby Cribs/ cots

Both cots r good but i too suggest the one that Kalem posted ,and i too think its better to keep baby with u in your bed for nightas it will be comfortable for u to feed baby too,and in the day time u can put them in the cot,and they can even play in it.and if the cot will be good in size u can use it for few years.
