My whole family has been using Dr. Brown’s since the beginning of time so I automatically bought those as well. The glass ones for colic obviously - this is a duh purchase for us although I am not sure why.
Now…for some reason he’s just not finishing his milk in those bottles anymore…I don’t know what it was but after scouring the interwebz I found Tommee Tippees.
I bought one yesterday and he liked it. He has to work slightly harder to suck but he is at least finishing his regular intake. The nipple is softer and the flow is not too fast.
My only gripe is that I feel like it gets a little messy. I don’t know why…still have to figure that out. The bottle shape and size is very foreign to me…they’re wide and squatty looking things that feel like I am feeding him out of a toy but they seem to be working! And I can’t complain about not having to microscopically clean the extra Dr. Brown’s parts!
What are the rest of you using? And any idea why the Dr. Brown’s just stopped working like that?
Mam is here too...didn't get a chance to look at them. The Tommee Tippee did the trick. I'll look for another nipple. This one came with the bottle and I think its small.
Did you mean the Dr. Brown's? Yes, I did. But for some odd reason...and I can't seem to understand why...he just won't finish milk with them anymore. He will always leave like an ounce or two which isn't normal for him.
My guy didn't like Dr. Brown's, I tried quite a bit to get him to drink from it because of his wind and colic. He used and still uses Avent Natural. One of my friend's uses mam.
With my first one,I ended up using Dr Brown's.She was a colicky baby, and those bottles worked perfectly for all the time she used them.
This time around I am using Tommee tippee and they are working fine too.I was pretty sure I was not gonna use Dr Brown's again just because it was a major pain to wash those million pieces!!And I love the fact that Tommee tipee are soooo easy to clean! But I do agree about their shape. They take up too much space on the drying rack and in the diaper bag too.But I still like them!
I have registered for Tommy Tippies all because I thought the shape seemed practical and good reviews but maybe I should switch to Dr. Browns based on the replays here? What should I typically be looking for to pick a bottle? And are bottles back up to not being able to fully breast or to switch between?
My mom used to think the Tommee Tippie bottles were a joke as well, cos she used to feed my son the bottle when i was in school... apparantly they're made to mimic the shape of a boob... hence the squat/round weird look lol.

Stick with one bottle for now and if ur baby doesn't fully bf or dislikes this specifc type then buy something different. It's good to have a bottle anyway cos u might not be able to bfeed immediately or find ur supply is low or maybe u want to pump all ur milk and feed thru the bottle... loads of reasons... it's just good to have backup.
Also, i think it would be a hassle of u bought a bunch of bottles and ended up not using them or finding something else that works for ur baby.
