In keeping with the scary theme I wanted to ask how many of you might have heard or experienced or believe that little ones (particularly those that cannot speak yet) or pets/animals can sense the presence of jinns/ghosts/spirits?
Any evidence?

Re: Babes In Arms and Animals
Babies are weird
My baby nephew keeps smiling at and “talking to” the roof.. aiwin fazool mein lol! And there’s this one particular corner in his room where he loves to stare and smile… any time he’s crying, all you have to do is show him the special little corner and he gets quiet straight away. I did once suggest perhaps t’is a jinn and my sister told me to shut up
In all seriousness though, I don’t believe in babies being able to see what we can’t see unless there’s some proof? (Come to think of it, how can anyone prove what babies think/see/feel?) As for animals, well most of them can sense danger as we know… baaki paranormal ka pata nahin.
My sikhni friend said when babies smile at nothing its because “parmaatma ona de naal gul karda honda” ![]()
Re: Babes In Arms and Animals
I totally get why you two would think the “babes in arms and animals” subject would be relevant to you…

Re: Babes In Arms and Animals
Punjabi really loves Honda. Every second sentence of theirs has that word in it.
Re: Babes In Arms and Animals
"Jiddan" takes the cake though! It's the "like" for Punjabis. My sister and I even tried counting how many times they said jiddan when they over at our house but couldn't keep up with it lol!

Re: Babes In Arms and Animals
You know I gave my mom heart attack many time.
I asked about the aunty who use to live in our house.
She asked me when, I told her most of the time. I told mom that that aunt was sweet to my and played with me.
Then I told her how autny looked like, mom got scared and she said
there was no such woman lived in our house.
Besides all the aunts I knew by name, only the one I asked mom about I did not know her name.

^ hahhaa.....love it!!!
my bhabhi had a similar episode with my niece when she was just three years old.
I've told this story before but I don't think that I've done it here....
long story so I'll just explain a portion of it:
niece used to go up the stairs one step at a time cuz she was little.
you could hear her go up all the steps just by listening to the thumps.
this particular day she went up half-way and returned to the downstairs family room with a specific dress that she wanted to wear......(it was later explained that this dress was in the hamper in the SIL's ensuite bathroom not only all the way up the stairs but in the furthest corner from the stairs)
when asked, "Yeh dress app ko kahan say mila...?"
niece confidently replied, "Mommy na diya"
SIL objected, "Magar main tau yahan thee" (meaning in the family room)
niece calmly explained, "nahin mommy stairs pay theen....mommy nay diya dress"
Re: Babes In Arms and Animals
OK on a serious note, when my older daughter was maybe 2 years old, my younger bro's wife had an abortion procedure done on her, where the unborn child was, I think more than 7 months old, so it was a properly form girl. They named her Alizah, and then did funeral. Very tough time for them.
My older daughter was obviously unaware of that and it would be beyond her comprehension anyways.
I think she was 3 or 4, and one day she introduced her imaginary best friend to us. I asked for the name, and she said ALizah. That really freaked us out. I think I even blogged about it once.
Re: Babes In Arms and Animals
^yeah...I remember you blogging about that......
I'd be freaked out if Noor ever did something like that.....luckily her imaginary friend was only a squirrel name Erdie.

She must have over heard the name in some family conversation from someone.
