So is this why the sikhs have an affinity for lahore - because this guy was born there?

Roughly speaking, Lahore is to Sikhs as significant as Medina is to Muslims.

There are alot more than people expect. By the way in the trible areas also there are some villiages that have a huge pathan sikhs.
During the kargil military build up the sikhs of Pakistan requested that they also want to join the pakistani army and Musharraf promised that there will eventually be a sikh regiment in Pakistan army. So yes, there are quiet a few pakistani sikhs. There is one Pakistani sikh singer who had a video released on TV recently also.

There are lots of sikhs living in Peshawar as well & they speak pushto & hindko too. They have an entire basti in main city Peshawar.
Let me add one thing here...99% of Sikhs & priests seen in this pic ...came form India for this special ceremony via Amritsar and are not Pakistani Citizens...Many Sikhs also come from Canada..esp Vancouver & London/South Hall in UK for this special ceremony)....Pakistan is also making special efforts to make a 2 rows causeway between Amritsar & Nankana Sahib(some 55 km North Wast of Lahore).....So that travel time is reduced to one & a half hour between Amritsar & Nankana Sahib(Currently 100 kms & 3 hrs).........Pakistan is also trying to get foreign investments from these Sikh communities abroad for these & other projects to preserve & beautify gurdwaras & Sikh Shrines..

No there isn't much significant of a Sikh Community living anywhere in Pakistan...even if they do they don't wear their head gears that often & so it is hard to tell(beacuse most minorities didn't use to decalre themselves openly).......There is a special seat for Sikhs in all Assemblies though.... under the name of scheduled castes,including Sikh, Parsees, Ahmadis,Lahoris & Buddhist communities of Pakistan....
