I was wondering what is the origination of this Punjabi idiom ? I sort of know it when to use it but I would like to know from guppan and guppies when they think is it appropriate to use this idiom and this taweez, if it really exists.

i grew up in punjab but neva heard it... are you sure thats an idiom?

I used to hear it from my boss at work. Whenever something got stuck he would say " iss day wastay baba bhullay shah da taweez chahi da"

ive heard of bullay shah, but never heard of the taveez.. hmm
