I am trying to make a short film, No, it’s not porn!.For that I had to go through allot of material available in the market and the web.
In my search I had to go through all the available content on Talibans/iraq/abu ghraib/september11th /war/torture/faces of death etc.
I came across allot of execution videos, torture pictures, killing murdering etc. After watching it all, I was left totally confused and perplexed at the human psyche.
Let’s try to have a mathematical model of the human brain.
The constants are the basic human instincts =>Love, hate, anger, jealousy, intellect, resilience, inquisitiveness, fear, retribution, (BLANK.), and allot of variation of these constants.
The variables involved are => social values, environment, morals, ethics, Religion, traditions etc.
The combination of these variables and constants define us as human beings, In any given combination the values of the variables directly affect the constants, so either a constant is suppressed by the variable or it is amplified.
My task was to find the BLANK constant, After watching videos of people slaughtering other people, a 18 year old’ being tied down and executed with a Kalashnikov aiming towards his face and many other such videos, of people of different faiths, same faiths, different geographical divides, different ethnic backgrounds, I reached the conclusion that the “Blank” should be replaced by the urge to kill, to extinguish another life.
If you follow my model you would understand that there is no such thing as “How evil, evil can be” There is a bit of evil in all of us, given the right conditions, or in mathematical terms the right variable, we can turn mother Teresa into jack the ripper.
In conclusion if you want good humans to flourish on earth remove or dampen the variable that affects a particular constant. This theory might give the war on terrorism a whole new meaning.
Simple as that.
