Ever wonder if you could get a notification, via e-mail, without subscribing to the actual thread? Let say if you were to quote me, only then I get a notification? Does it make any sense? Does vBulletin 3.0 provides any such functionality?

Are you asking if person in quote can get a notification? I don't think this feature is available in any script. Is it possible? Maybe but doesn't not worth the time and efforts.

no such functionality.
by looking at the quote traffic, if we the above said feature, 90% of the server time will be used to send emails.

Thanks Azkar for getting back to me. I think I wasn't very clear in my first post though... what I meant to ask was "Instead of subscribing to whole thread (so that you don't get e-mails every time when a Tom, Dick or Harry replies) subscribe to just your own response so that if someone quotes you, you then get a notification.
Still not possible eh! Anyway, my apology for raising a mundane question
