Great! A guy who started off with THREE test centuries against South Africa finally gets a double century. It's a shame he hasn't been a regular part of Pak team. Whatever opportunity he was given, he was always sent in the slog overs and never allowed to settle. Kinda like what India has been doing to Kaif until recently.

He had to compete with Razzaq for a spot in ODI’s and there is no way on earth he is better than Razzaq and that’s why he has never been a permanent member of ODI squad. He was given ENOUGH chances to prove himself but his performance is pretty average at international level, he hasn’t been treated UNFAIRLY, got enough chances but failed.

The problem with Azhar as stated by mYsTeRiOuS_gUy has been that he had to compete with Razaaq for a place in the side. He can bat on par with Razaaq, maybe even have a better defence but his bowling lacks pentration to get batsmen out. Razzaq even after oosing a yard or so in pace is still a better bowler then Azhar. Along with that we have another two all rounders in Afridi and S. Malik so it is very hard to open up the spot for another all rounder. Azhar is a talented cricketer and perhaps would have found a place in most other sides due to his allround abilities but fortunatley or unfortunatley Pakistan already has too many all rounders.

Azhar was given many chances and not sent in slog overs but he missed targets by miles, done and over, next!
