Rana was man of the series in last ODI series against a good windies side. But Azhar cannot do any worse than sami for sure.

but all the teams have already submitted their 30 man squad for the WC and now the final 15 will be picked from that 30. as far as i rem, azhar was not in that 30 so how could cricinfo say that azhar given chance to be in WC squad ?

The WC provincial squad of 30 was just a deadline by ICC for all the countries to name the squad. In reality, the board could pick players outside the 30 with ICC approval. The same story surfaced in England 3-4 days ago when it was brought out in the Media that Gough will be selected in the England WC Squad despite not being named in the England provincial 30-man squad.
But going back to Azhar, I doubt that he will play. I read in the paper today and now PCB will submit his passport for a visa for SA and when he gets that then he will fly out. So when they knew Shabbir was flying home after the 20/20 on feb 2nd, why couldn’t the PCB selection committee sit down on Feb 3rd and decide the replacement and then get that visa process started. They had to wait 3 days and for Shabbir to return home before naming his replacement and then submitting the visa. So in essence Azhar will not make it there before the 2nd ODI, so what is the purpose of getting him there for the last 3 games of the series? I cannot understand the logic behind that. Perhaps someone like Samiullah Niazi would have been a better option that he will learn by being with the squad and not someone like Azhar whom even Bari said a couple weeks ago that he will not select him as it would mean going backward rather than forward.
So I guess PCB is going backward and we all knew that. But I know that chacha Woolmer likes Azhar so maybe he will give him a chance in SA. He asked for Azhar during the test series but was refused by W. Bari and his Ghundas.
Azhar scored 2 centuries this week in the domestic match so thats why he got the call. Timing is everything.

PCB drama continues…
Pathetic stuff. I think this is the main reason behind teams poor performance lately.
Chacha Naseem flew to SA to witness his wish of Test series victory. And we Lost the test. Since then it has been down hill.
I can’t believe the 2 are not related. Chacha Naseem might have shown disappointment to which the team has drooped its shoulders.
I can’t believe we will be able to hit back at SAFFIES who think they are lions and we are their prey right now. Pakistan needs to show we can fight back and still win a series there.

While Inzi is the captain, it would be difficult to life the morale of the team. We need an inspirational captain. Opening with Akmal does not make sense and Inzi batting at # 6 is even worse.

Azhar simply needs to grow a beard to be in our tablighi team. kamran ,younis and hafeez ,better watch out guys. if you don't grow the beard your days are over.

its possible. in Imran's time he had always played Qadir,the wicket taking bowler.we have only two wicket taking bowlers at present and danish needs to be at least tried in odi.
