Its a little early for him but glad he made the call himself. Must have made a good judgement.
For the record, he played in 53 ODIs, scored 1845 runs at an average of 36.90 which is not bad at all. The strike rate can be questionable.
As he said in interview himself, and at the positive end, he can focus completely on test cricket and Pakistan definitely needs him there.

I think Azahar Ali did the right thing to retired from ODI it's a good sign to give chance to the new players..
And what, pray, was the questionable Srrike rate. Was it Nirth of the Misbah Mendoza line?
Good act by Azhar, 36 is a not-so good average considering he is a specialist batsman. Good luck to him.
