Both Azhar and Asad are good finds. lets hope they really blossom into good international palyers. Pakistan needs players like them, now if we could only find a good opening pair.

Taufiq is trying and atleast he is a positive bat and getting 40s.. he is better than damad 10 times... so we just need a good right arm opener...in the BOTW culture..hafeez is here to stay unless some one spectacular emerges from domestic...

I would actually promote Umar Akmal to open and tell him this it if he applies himself this is his spot otherwise go back to dept. cricket in Pakistan...he needs a good threat...

Rumor has it that Yousaf refused to be a part of the spot / match fixing culture currently prevailing the Pakistani team and hence withdrew himself voluntarily.

I just saw the HLs..Mashallah Asad seems to be a good batsmen. I just hope he doesn’t end like Umar after a year… :hmmm:

he seems to be anxious to hit boundaries…operning spot may be better for him..
maybe try Asad at the top with Taufiq and introduce Yousuf when he is ready to play with the good ol’ boys again.
YK, Misbah and MoYo won’t be a bad middle order…

^ I think we can also add “Tanvir” to the equation, Played some blistering strokes last night. His Stance was correct, leaning to the shot with just enough power and placement. Perfect and towering body language.
I liked what I saw in his valuable inngings.
Making of another valuable all rounder, wouldn’t you agree ?? :cobra:

Agreed Azhar has been impressive thus far

should have had a test century by now. A highest of 92* against England and dismissed for 90 against SA (2nd test)

^^ yeah that is a cause for worry...but better that than bam wham Umar who came with a splash and then fizzled out for what he is today...

A consistent 50+ avg. is way better...i am sure you will agree..

Both Azhar and Asad are tectonically sound. One thing they have to work on is to rotate the strike. I'm sure they will learn and get better as they play more test matches.

Though off topic, but Umar will definitely bounce back, once he stops taking money from the bookies. This is one guy after Kamran Akmal who needs to be investigated thoroughly. The way he gets out is very suspicious.

Now back to topic, Azhar did play well in the test series, I watched some of it and found him to be interesting candidate for test batting. I just hope that PCB does not ruin him by making him opener or something to accommodate all the big one i.e. Younis, Yousuf and Misbah in the team.
