I dunn think majority of sunnis followed him or his viewpoint. My mother's side of the family is a very conservatibe sunni family and they all hate this guy and his organization.
i can predict that this one murder will lead to 50 shia killings whether done by sipah men or "those" who actually take advantage of shia/sunni hostility.
Azam Tariq of course was no saint but it would have been better to bring him to justice by a court trial. such killings only ruin the harmony of the society. i wouldnt be surprised if "they" respond by killing some bigshot shia leader ...
PS: i am all for sectarian violence as long as it doesnt involves the lives of innocent people. this way these f'ed-in-the-head so-called molanas will finish off themselves. "na rahey ga bans, na rahey gi bansri"
Azam Tariq was an extreamist and fundamentalist. they way he died he deserved it coz his followeres killed God knows how many innocent people in the name of religion.
So i hate him and to me he was no better than Usama bin Aladeen as both killed inocent ppl in the name of religion.
I am sunni, and yess some of my best mates are shia, but we respect each others religious commitments.
of what i know my reaction was "khas kam jahaan paak"....
but i guess the shiaas wud be happy to have their revenge....
i hope this means "score settled" and no more violence, but i know that wud only be a dream....
I agree with Fraudiya. It does not affect majority of the sunnis. For me I condemn the Shia killings , those were all innocent lives that were lost in KArachi and prior to that in Quetta . However, the way he has been target was really brutal.
Initially I also thought that it would be another revengeful act, a reprisal BUT we cannot rule out other factors behind it as well.
1) He is the slain cheif, and erstwhile member and president ( I believe former ) of SSP. He changed his course of action and one cannot rule out the possibility that another Sunni faction or dissenting group infuriated with him and his policies killed him. (Intra-sectarian killing)
2) Agencies? .. Armitage and Rocca is in Islamabad... look we have internal problems, we need help to root them out...
I do not support this sectarianism. It is breeds extremism of the worst kind. How many Shia's are they gonna kill with impunity. I know Shia's have been no less. They have taken revenge BUT the way these serial killings targeting this minority has been going on is condemnable. It is our national loss that we are loosing doctors, engineers and Ulema (Doctor Ghulam Murtaza) and not to forget the innocent lives.
oo... i heared this sad news when my sis called me and told this shocking news while i was in tablighe ijtima.........this is indeed a sad incident and the way he attained shadah is bmost brutual way some one can revenge with ..............
he is not the first sunni aalim who attained shadah this way.....
befors him.......all his predecessors were killed......also some other BIG sunni ulema attained shadah right under the noe of government machenry........
to name few are...
mouana habib ullah mukhtar (head binory town)
moulana abdullah(biggest aalim in islamabad)
moulana yousaf ludhyanivi(most of u already might know him.)
one can disaggree with some of his policy........but only few hate him after knowing his believes ...most of ppl hated him blindly following the propaganda by his rivals(most of the paki media is headed by the other sect)...........still he was very moderate in his dealings with shias ....his only aim was that when no one in pakistan an abuse quaid e azam....then how can one particular sect be given the right to OPENLY do tabrra on sahabah and ummahat ul mominneeen.......
he was not only an ordinary aalim......he was give ijazah in all the four silasil by hadrat moulana yousaf ludhyanvi shaheed ..........who had very high standars of given ijazah..
his moderate policy laid to disaggrement and give way to lashkar e jhengvi who were nothing but as sunni as a normal shia is shia........
he was attacked 25 times and ALLAH saved him ......
he hated the idea that a sect be given thje permission to have aname as TAHREEK E NIFAZ E FIQAH E JAFRIA
...........indeed man of his calibre he stood aginst evil and aginst those who backed this evil is hard to forget ..........but it is the sunnah of allah that he will stand some other aalim who will take his place.......
may allah give him highest place an ummatti can have in jannah......
PS.....i could have posted the reply with my multi nick...but wanted to point out the mistake that many ppl try to be moderate without having any real knowledge of the believe.of the opposit ........
this is my belive and i firmly stand it......

1-no way in th eworld that they have blasted 40 bullets on the face on the aalim the al loved but disagreed only on the polite dealing of shiaz...
2-yes.....that was my first impression....but after seeing that he recieved 40 bullets and was already on the hit list of sajid naqvi........
THIS IS ONLY DONE BY OTHER SECT..........
may be they were also pumped by the raw and american agents ..but yes the awy faisal salih hayat and president responded..........
he was killed by other sect with the consent of his enemy faisal salih hayat ..............
his supposed moderate views did not appear in him tellign sipah sahaba ppl to chill out and to not kill others. saying that lashkar e jhangvi was worse is true, and compared to them sipah looks better, but its like putting charcoal grey next to black and sayiong its white.. its dark..just not as black.
No religion, faith, group or tribe has sole monopoly over violent people. If Maulana Azam Tariq was encouraging people to commit murder and mayhem in God's world, he is responsible for his own deeds.
Azam Tariq's death is a victory for those who practice true Islam and for patriotic Pakistanis. Hopefully we will continue and kill of Bin Laden and his followers as well.

So now the bigots are blaming Faisal Saleh Hayat for Azam Tariq's death becuase Hayat is shia? Nothing surprises me anymore.
[/QUOTE]
yes he is suspected............azam tariq defeated faisal salih brother aasad hayat......they had very old rivalry with faisal and abida hussain family because both of them are known to be very true shias and are active in supporting terrorist of tahreeq e nifaz e fiqah jafria...and sipah e muhammad.........
yes faisal bhai there were many pockets with sipah wo are very strict in dealing with shiaz ...and that is more worrying as no one in sipah now seems to be able to convinse these workers to calm down .............nifaz e fiqah jafria terrorist will god forbid soon be seing the result...........
may ALLAH bless this country......
