No where close to the PTV world or PTV lineup, but still pretty good!!! Good job Prime!!!

how did i know you'd be the first one to reply to the post?

The dramas were excellent. I watched the Talat Aziz drama today. The name was something DUA karr chalay. You could see the difference! I knew it was written by someone good unlike the idiots who write the dramas today and are praised by people with no taste ( I wont take names).

This drama was written by Anwar Maqsood! Yesterday I saw PREMSHER SINGH. that was excellent too! See thats what I was saying, no million dollar houses. No pretty woman. Just a paindoo family based in a village and the drama glued me to couch for an hour and a half......

Just got done watching AMANAT!

Excellent drama from the Isalamabad PTV people!

:teary2: I didnt get to see it… I was at work then had a final…

mujay tell karo what was on… :teary2:

Could have been alot better. :nook: :nook:

the presentation by those two old geezers was sooooo long n boring, the drama's seem ok but i dint watch them, the milli nagmay were just so old n boring,,,,

shukar hai that the azaadi transimssion is over, n theve come back to normal!

Hmm...it seems the dramas were appreciated.

I found it lacking. Other than the dramas, it all sucked. They showed OLD songs. The only show they had that was decent was the Azadi Show telecasted around noon. The regional PTV awards were unsurprisingly punjabi-dominated, leaving very little room for any other culture.

I mean, I really liked their Eid transmission so much better! At least they had a lot of guests coming in and out - and the hosts were a lot better.

I think Prime made much ado about nothing.

Next time we will have a Pathan/Baluchi Catwalk for you I guess...

Dont be silly Spock.

If they were going to have a Punjabi awards show, then they should have called it the Punjabi Award Show, rather than PTV regional awards.

Folk singers from Balochistan wouldn't have been a bad idea.

Agreed…:k:
I like folk songs…
But its a bussines, and one that is watched by majority Punjabis… So you cater to you audience for a profit… That life.

Dont be so naive... Did they speak a word of Punjabi? It was Urdu, and Urdu happens to be our national language and common platform. If you are suggesting we bring in Shazia Khushk, the Baluchi sensation, then I for one am never watching these stupid awards!!! Even erum would do a better job singing... Bringing them in glamour centered awards looks stupid. Can you imagine some country or redneck group perform in the oscars?

  1. Shazia Khushk is not Balochi - she's a sindhi singer, who sings in many different languages.

  2. My opinion is that shazia khushk is a better singer than many of the singers performing in the awards. If you dont like her, that doesn't mean that everyone doesn't. I personally dont like Naseebo Lal's voice, but she's well-liked by many people!

  3. Urdu was not the CONTENT of the show, but the MEANS to deliver it to the audience. The show is called "regional awards", meaning the CONTENT should be regional, i.e. non-urdu. Punjabi isn't the only regional culture that provides entertainment to our choda corore awaam! Being an army-oriented man yourself, you ought to know that!

If there is enough demand to see Sindhi/Balochi singers then I would like to see Pakistani TV promote them more. It doesn't do any good when the industry gets accused of Punjabi domination.

PCG aunty... There is a thing called demand, and personally the guys at PTV know what the audience wants, which is why they didnt put Khuskh Aunty to sing, and make a mess out of the whole show...

Khuskh is really khush, and so is her voice... Naseebo is 10 times better, but I dont like both of them... Reshma was the best!!!

xtreme, from many letters read on prime post, it seems many people feel the same way I do about punjabi domination on Prime. I dont hold Prime at fault for the awards ceremony though, because Prime wasn't
the one to organize it - PTV Lahore center did it.

Thanks for sharing your dislikes/likes of folk singers, Spock. I'm not arguing about what the general public wants to see or even what you and I want to see. I'm arguing "why call it a regional awards ceremony, when you're mostly showing punjabi entertainment?"

Because if they call it Punjabi awards, people like Maula Baksh will come out here and add feul to their promotion of provincial disharmony and hatred in Pakistan... You fail to realize that these moves on the part of PTV are carefully planned. Btw, I cant say that for Prime, but on the national television channel of Pakistan, sufficient coverage is given to all provinces. The funniest of all the ppl on PTV is that guy from NWFP, who also starred in "Pakistan Express". He makes omer sharif look bad. Remember the drama from Quetta, "Dhuwaan"? Very few of our Karachi/Lahore dramas could match that.

Dhuwaan was from Quetta? Or are you talking about the Abid Ali/Atiqa Odho drama "Dasht"?

So are you saying that PTV deliberately calls it regional awards, while KNOWINGLY promoting Lahori entertainment over anything else? Keep in mind that the Lahore center organized it, so I wouldn't hold all PTV responsible.
